Ok here’s the completed firmware and hardware.
The spec has changed a little
Now a member of the MPD family.
It’s purely a light board with a few plus options. No longer designed to run on digital systems as well.
It’s purely for Scorpius WAM and Scorpius Controller users.
Can be used with normal analogue systems though, but with less control.
Spec has increased from 4 to 5 channels.
Channel 1: Headlight
Channel 2: Headlight
Channel 3: Rear lights/Brake lights
Channel 4: Exhaust flame simulator
Channel 5: Fog lights. (Or any auxiliary light like an interior light)
Each channel is designed for specific colours with different resistance to match the colour.
Changers 3 and 4 are for orange/red/green 370 ohms. (Green is maximised at 270). Channels 1,2 and 5 are for your whites and blues at 900 ohm.
As it’s called the Light Board Plus let’s see what we have in the way of pluses.
1. OLED. Nice for a 24 hr analogue event.
2. Photo sensor for triggering analogue pit lane entry flippers.
3. Tacho. Optional.
All plug’n’play.
All wireless.
All controllable form Scorpius controller.
Configurable via PC.
Flashing lights as follows. Just tick the right boxes on the PC config program and upload to the MPD. I may even be able to use the controller menu. Let’s see.
Channels 1 and 2 are an alternate flashing pair.
Channels 3 and 4 are an alternate flashing pair.
Channel 5 can pulse on/off.
All wires are 28AWG silicone with the insulation so it takes up minimum space and maximises its ability to get around tight corners etc. *Important.
If you have no analogue controller then you just use the default settings or configure using a Scorpius dongle. You won’t be able to switch anything on the fly like turn lights on/off or select or flash high beam.
Pic showing motor wires soldered to braid input pins. This allows both the motor and the MPD to be powered.
Simple and effective.

Heres the overall board showing all the lights, OLED, Super cap, tacho option, braid and motor wires and photo sensor for analogue pit entry.
[attachment=42441]
Some nice wireless digital enhancements to the analogue world.
If you choose to install the Photo Sensor into the chassis you can access lane changing (analogue pit entry), lap counting (Scorpius RMS, dongle required) and multi channel surround sound.
If you already have the Scorpius WAM (Wireless Analogue Module) and controller this would be very easy to implement.
So… a light board with a twist.
