The key is 'item location' not 'business location' and foreign sellers are obliged to maintain a stock in this country if it says the item is located in UK. I have bought numerous items like this and every time it has arrived in a couple of days from the UK location listed even though the seller is actually a Chinese business. As a a safeguard have a look at their feedback - if the stuff is actually being shipped from China you will usually find a good deal of negative feedback saying so.
Hello Brian,
Yes, I have had that experience also. I guess it makes some sense from the seller's point of view in that bulk shipping to UK stock has a financial benefit and provides a better customer experience.
My most annoying Ebay experience was actually local. Was desperate for some small bolts and I found a seller identified as in Haddington, less than 10 miles away. The items arrived 7 days later from Warrington. The seller operates via a 3rd party warehouse service. I wasn't pleased but could see that I didn't have any grounds to complain so I didn't leave them any feedback.
