Race report and results - 27th February 2025 - Italian Cars Team Race

Everyone brought at least two different Italian cars tonight…except Brian who only has one eligible car in racing fettle so he ran the SlotIt Maserati twice, in two different teams.
.
Although Ed had two different cars, he was allowed to run a Cartrix Grand Prix car and a Saturday Scalextric Club Ninco Lamborghini (with magnet) because a) He’d forgotten about his SlotIt Ferrari, and b) His other car had a gearbox failure.
.
Everyone ran 3 qually laps, the slowest qualifier had first pick of team-mate, next slowest had next choice and so-on until there were two cars left which happened to be Andy’s Thunderslot Ferrari 350 and Kev’s SCX Ferrari 550 Maranello at that point someone commented “that’ll be tough to beat!”
.
Racing was run in two halves, we raced our number 1 cars first then our number 2 cars but with the heat lineups changed.

Teams chosen were as follows:
Ed 2 & Gav 2
Ed 1 & Chris 1
Gav 1 & Brian 1
Brian 2 & Andy 2
Chris 2 & Kev 1
Kev 2 & Andy 1

There were some good races over the course of the evening and with no out-and-out racing specials it gave those racing slower cars a chance to enjoy their races.
