Just before New Year's Eve the SCX/ Scalextric Spain 1980 Hunsrück Rallye Fiat 131 Abarth appeared at Hobbyclassic and Joaquimoslot in Spain. 
Walter Röhrl and Christian Geistdörfer won the German event, which counted for the European- and German Rally Championship.
Together with some friends I visited that event as a spectator and I can still remember his perfect driving style.
Despite their busy WRC schedule, the duo took part in four German championship rallies, all of which they won.
1980 Was also the year in which Walter Röhrl became world rally champion for the first time. 
Two years later, in 1982, he repeated this when he drove the Ascona 400 for Opel.

The winning 1980 Hunsrück Rallye SCX Fiat 131 Abarth is available in a clean version (700 units) and a dirt, after race, version (300 units).
