Race results and report - 12 December 2024 - Saloon followed by NSR Mosler ‘Club Challenge’ #10 (the championship decider)

Six of us turned up tonight to decide the winner of the NSR Mosler ‘Club Challenge’ Championship…three drivers were in the running (Mike B, Chris & Ed).
.
First off, Saloons…and what turned out to be one of the most enjoyable nights of Saloon racing I can remember.

The super fast racing specials were left in their boxes tonight, instead we had a couple of Back 2 Basics Class cars (Ed’s Opel and Kev’s Camaro), Brian’s Standard Class Opel, Chris’s Modified Class Honda Civic and a couple of Open Class cars, Andy’s Alfa and Mike’s Mustang.
Brian’s SlotIt Opel nicked overall best score of the night on the last lap but four class winners meant a good night for all.

…and now the NSR Mosler ‘Club Challenge’ Championship decider

The three drivers in the running turned up and raced each other all night.
…Mike was setting the fastest laps but Chris was the most consistent, Ed was doing his best to stay in touch but in the end a few too many deslots for Chris meant Mike ended up on top spot.
.
The other three guys in the ‘Unofficial Non-Championship’ saved the closest race to last, all three cars blasting round to wrap up an interesting race series.
.
So who’s this years Champion?...counting a maximum of 9 results:
 - Mike B got 38 points
 - Chris got 33 points
 - Ed got 31 points
 - Gav got 20 points

This series is also on next years race calendar but reduced to nine rounds to allow for a new addition namely the ‘Battle of Britain’ theme night and will no longer be sponsored by Andy but will carry on as we’ve run it as the cars go so well.

This Saturday the club will be open all day as we are hosting the final round of the ‘Goodwood Revival Proxy’ as reported all year on SlotRacer Forum.
