Race results and report - 17th October 2024 - Club Revoslots followed by Saloons
.
The best turnout of the year as Geoff, Brian H, Paul and Mike H made nine club members past & present although Mike H couldn’t stay to race he did have a natter and watch the practice for a while.
.
Club Revoslots + club controllers
.
A first for Brian H and Paul with these cars and they did well racing against Ed for three interesting heats.
After the three heats Brian H finished comfortably clear of Paul & Ed but it was obvious that Paul was quickly back in racing mode after his first heat whilst Ed really had a bad time with the red Porsche.
.
Andy, Geoff, Kev, Brian L & Mike raced the other mixed heats, Andy & Kev were a little quicker than the chasing pack of Brian L, Geoff & Mike. In the end Andy had the least problems and couldn’t be caught and Kev keeping Brian L safely back in 3rd spot. Geoff & Mike were very close with Geoff having the better of Mike in Yellow and Blue but not living up to his name as ‘good in Red’.
.
Saloons
.
Saloons saw cars from all four classes, Ed in ‘B2B’ with his trusty Ninco Opel which seemed to go better tonight whilst three Standard Class cars were headed by Brian’s SlotIt Opel finishing well ahead of Mike’s NSR Clio…”let’s race this, why not” followed by Brian H’s borrowed Scooby often seen raced (thrashed) by Geoff…the driving style obviously handed down to #1 son Brian.
.
Modified Class was represented by Kev’s 3D Studebaker that’s finally been sorted after about six different chassis…couldn’t be caught by Paul’s Revo Toyota on a 3D chassis…he doesn’t half push through the little chicane which caught him out a couple of times.
.
Open Class was a race of twins, both built by Andy, a pair of Opel Calibras, Andy’s was very consistent and far too fast for Geoff to catch him.

Next week is TV/Film cars followed by Sports…the slowest class we race followed by the fastest…it should be yet another memorable night and if you want to come and race and don’t have a full set of cars, there’s always a spare TV/Film car available
