The acid test would be if it can get a pair of Evo's to grip similarly to the old ultra's 

Treating Evo Ultras is the quickest way to ruining them.  I had a little success heat treating them in a food dehydrator for an hour...they shrink and do seem a little less prone to crumbling to dust like non heat treated ones do.
