… why did they put the registration number on the bumper instead of the plate in the middle? I have watched it many times at Goodwood and the reg plate is definitely in the usual central position.

Any idea what the two red bits underneath the front bumper are? 

The number plate was on the bumper in that location at Revival 2021 (the exact livery reproduced) and was still there at FoS in 2023. Historic racing cars evolve, here at Brands in 2022…

   

The red things are air intakes, presumably for the brakes. They’ve been on the car (and bright red) for quite a while.
