Pip - on the Capri, XJ-S and other recent moulds. I understand the Scalextric team were working on more re-liveries than made it into the catalogue. When it became clear that so many 2021 cars would be carried over to this year, the decision was to prioritise the new tooling and put the re-liveries 'on hold'. I think there's a very good chance you'll see them in the future. The Capri and XJ-S have certainly sold very well so far - and there are still some nice racing, road car and TV/movie options to choose from.

Absolutely no idea what they have planned, but apart from the green and white TWR cars, I do like this JPS livery that Tom W drove to victory at the 1984 Macau race...

As for Rick's NSR vs Scalextric price comparison... looking at the like-for-like UK RRP (Gaugemaster vs Scalextric websites)...

Mercedes AMG GT3: £84.95 vs £49.99 = 70% more
Williams FW11: £87.95 vs £53.99 = 63% more.

Not that anyone pays RRP - but comparing a 'best price' for one to RRP for the other is mildly disingenuous... Plus NSR and Scalextric are completely different beasts with very different purposes in life - aimed at distinctly different market places. Different strokes for different folks etc.

Comparing current UK RRPs for various brands - Scalextric, Carrera (both £49.99), Fly (£54.95), SCX (£57.95), Teamslot (£57.99), Slot.it (£64.95), Sideways (£74.95), Avant Slot (£81.99), NSR (£87.95), Thunderslot (£89.95) and Le Mans Miniatures (£115) - a Slot.it car is looking extremely good value for a beautiful scale model and a thoroughbred racer.

However, it's also about the breadth of the range - and Scalextric is streets ahead there, even of Carrera, in my opinion. For many non-hardcore-racers, it's the novelty and choice of models that's the attraction. Again, Slot.it (with Policar) have an increasingly strong range, with an excellent track system too. One big gap is for rally fans - but that's where Fly, Teamslot, SCX and Avant Slot do their stuff. Another gap is modern F1 cars - nothing new from Carrera this year in 1:32 scale. In terms of the US, Nascar is a gap too - but licensing for Nascar and F1 is notoriously difficult and expensive.
