I need to make them a bit narrower on the inside edge, so will try out the little needle tyre cutter on the Hudy.
And I do need to take a bit off the diameter to get them to the size I want. So I might end up without any imperfections after all.

Then I'll have a N22 / Supergrip showdown!

Jeremy, do not use the needle tyre cutter on the Hudy !!!,....it is for sponge tyres only.

If you are careful, you can use  the Hudy and a scalpel to narrow the tyres......make sure the tyres are rotating away from you (at the top) , and with a fresh/sharp scalpel blade (and a steady firm hand) you will be able to slice the tyre cleanly.

You may want to consider placing the dimple in line with the grub screw on the wheel.....the slight depression in the sidewall at the dimple, may give a bit more room to insert your tyre wrench.

With NSR tyres it is never a bad idea to start with a tyre that is a touch taller..........this allows you to take  off a smidge more rubber, ensuring you get below all the dips/dimples/irregularities commonly found on the NSR's.
