Haven't done anything to my PMs, but did have several hundred in my inbox! I have deleted them now, so should be some space - if that was the problem.
Braids - yes, absolutely. Some short-ish pieces soldered to the front of the shoes is the way to do it. You want it nice and smooth at the front, so nothing catches on the track joins...
One way is to build up solder at the front or...
...simply leave long ends at the front and bend them up.
A change of rear tyres is also probably a very good idea. However, if you were to enter our UK races, you'll automatically get a couple of sets of 'Tuff Ones' silicone tyres - courtesy of Nick and Sandy at SuperTires.
