It's certainly not my power supply of choice these days - in fact it sounded less than healthy the last time I sparked it up a few years ago... However, it's what powered all my childhood Scalextric racing in the 70s and 80s, plus my siblings' racing through the 60s. It did a fine job and weighs a ton too.

Nowadays, I use a variety of laptop power supplies for HO racing, the standard Scalextric 15V 4A units for digital and a half-decent Maplins bench top supply for running in motors and other bits & bobs.
