The 59 Chev "bubble top" was also famous for another reason. In a world where truth didn't sell cars. But lies sure tainted sales. Another car manufacturer spread a rumour about the 59 Chevy in that the back end of the car became airborne at highway speeds due to the large lateral fins, and you could possibly crash and umm... die?
