I'm into bodies

Transfers arrived from Colin so the BRM and Maserati are done. Shame the meeting has been delayed until December!! I can see it being put back again until next June though.

I really only build cars for particular meetings so a limited amount to do in the track room apart from running cars around. Must do something about timing and lap counting but I have no idea which will be best. Although it's a three lane track, two lanes will be good enough for now and it can always be added to later.

I hate the idea of anything that uses a PC and Windows so might look at the DS system for simplicity.

DS timing systems are fine Gordon but they are very expensive. If you can overcome your dislike of Microsoft then you can rig up a simple system very cheaply. Have a read about Race Control in the SlotRacer manual.

Thanks Brian. I'll have a look but I have the sort of brain that goes into lockdown as soon as it sees the words 'electronic' or 'simple'. The first I know means that I won't understand it and the second word I don't believe.

If I stick to hewing wood, I know I'm on safe ground. I can handle the practical bits like drilling holes and some wiring but what I need is someone who just says "oh, give it here" like Ronnie does when I take more than three seconds to get round to something.

I do have a Mac Mini somewhere in the house that runs XP so the software should be OK although I haven't used it apart from the initial look to see what it was like and then hastily abandoned in despair Sun

First new car for a while.

Discovered the Lotus 11 Breadvan and thought it looked fun but I had very little balsa left so tried a plasticard base and just stuck balsa on for the curvy bits. No drawing available so I had to do it myself.

Basics done and a quick splash of paint to discover all the faults!

Looks great, Gordon.

1/24 scale?

On your finished model I want to see the wiper arm and blade pointing to the stars.....1/1 correct and all that!

Yup, 24th scale, it's pretty rare for me to do a 32nd scale car unless it's for Bordo. I'll try and get the angle of the wiper just right! Bigsmile
