Cars bought by members in 2020
#11

The above Toyota GT1 needed a running mate, so I got a S/H Nissan R390.
It came with the AW config with an NSR King 21 motor and some large gaps in the front arch.

Since the pic I have sorted it, with an inline 0.5 offset running BRM 23K short can and NSR Ultra rears to match the Toyota's setup.
I also altered the fronts for a much more pleasing full front wheel arch.
Both cars now capable of posting similar times round my track, so job's a good'un Talking

A nice package from the superb Pendle Slot Racing arrived today Rofl
Various bits inside, but in amongst the parts was:

Now I have my DTM/ITC pair, I will be replacing the wheels with some 17.5mm items as this will bring them close to a scale 18" as possible. I will have to use different inserts, so vaguely similar is all I can add to that !
Then just change to a deeper guide, add some chassis weight and suitable sized front tyres and urethane tyres on the rear they will be ready for home use  Sun

Also in the box:

A 1965 and a 1963 Ford Galaxie.
Plan is to make them a NASCAR racing pair for home use.
They will be decorated in a fantasy but true period type livery, and I aim to give them closer to a scale ride height than I usually see, using rims and tyre profiles to replicate close to how they ran back in the day.
I am going to have to rework the interior, but want to retain as much detail as I can.
At the moment I am thinking of a Flat 6 motor inline as the chassis is built for inline, but if that needs to much sacrifice on the interior I may mod or change the chassis to a sidewinder.

There was also a nice envelope with some decals thanks to Fluff  Thumbup .… I am undecided on my livery yet but these will certainly help  Beer

The Amato chassis arrived yesterday, Cheers Angelo  Thumbup

Hi Tel,glad the decals turned up ,cant wait to see how the cars turn out . I tried angle winder but still had to cut out quite a bit of the interior  I'm sure side winder would fit but I found it a bit fidderly .

Having spent some time in the mancave checking clearances etc for the larger wheels on the Alfa and the Merc, it has come to light somehow the Merc body is 1.5mm ish out of alignment, this is noticeable where the rear of one front arch sticks forward that much further than the chassis, the other side is perfectly level.
I ran out of time to find out why today, but looks like next time will be spent trying to see if anything has been heat welded on incorrectly, or whatever.
I can manually twist the body to the correct shape, so if its not a misaligned component, then it looks like some heat gun action will be needed to re-align it all. Always a risk, so a last resort !
It looks like QC in China is letting Maurizio down !

This Finally arrived today, I am a bit unhappy with some areas of the car (see what grinds your gears section for explanation).
But I had to have it, such an iconic and OTT 80's style !

Icons8-race-car-16

Just arrived today, runs great on the track and having headlights was a bonus adding realism to the car.

I’ve kind of fallen in love with the OSC/SRC Peugeot 205 Evo1 and Evo2.

So here‘s the Rally of Sweden car. Should be driven on the Swedish Rally track :)

And Here’s a nice OSC I missed out on when it was released, took me years to find one.

Almost completed my collection of "Goodwood Revival" cars for our club event.

Only the most famous Mini of them all, and the first of my slot cars that I have owned in real life...

Blimey it's small. Digitalisation will be fun!

I love puttering with gears

Not yet a slot car, but 2x Bodies that I will fit with plastic chassis.

Kept wanting the Revoslot cars, but they use non standard 1/32 running parts so was always put off, even though they look top quality.
So seeing the prepainted bodies, and having a good few Scaleauto universal chassis sat doing nothing, the plan was hatched  Wrench
For those interested, the complete bodies and interior weigh in at a reasonable 23.5g
