Our second HO club night of the year falls just two days after the club's tenth birthday. We'll be celebrating with an evening of Nascar oval-ish action on our homage to the Trenton Speedway...
The start of the night's action will be heralded by Worthing Town Crier, Bob Smytherman - and they'll be cake, bucket-loads of sweets and a prize draw with prizes big and small donated by AFX, Scalextric, Slot Car Magazine, Jadlam Racing Models and Woodcote painted resin bodies.

I am sure I will
Things have changed quite a bit in ten years, but the fun and excitement of a WHO race night are still the same...

It was a fabulous Big Birthday Bash at the Barn last night! Thirty-two people raced and it was fabulous to meet up with WHO Racers from the past ten years. The racing was pretty sensational too.
We were joined by Worthing Town Crier - Bob Smytherman - who introduced the evening and then stayed to race...
WHO co-founder Robin popped in to say hello and is pictured with the other three people from that original evening in February 2010 - Mike, Andy & John.
Everyone went home with a birthday present, thanks to Scalextric, AFX, Slot Car Magazine, Gaugemaster, Jadlam Toys & Models and some generous club members...
The racing did go on much later than usual, but it was exciting stuff right to the end.
Cake was cut and consumed half way through the evening...
And the race was won by Jerome - meaning he has won three of the past five races, moving him ahead of Ned and level with Corey as the junior with most A final wins. Both Corey and Ned joined us last night to race as adults. Ryan picked up his first ever Nascar Gen6 win and qualifies for the end-of-season championship shoot-out. On the track it was definitely a night for the youngsters!

It was a great evening. The suggestion to the get the Worthing Town Crier along was inspired. I'm not sure we'll see anything quite like that at the Barn again for a while...
The highlight for me was the mix of new racers - some having only started this season - and some we haven't seen for quite a while. It was perfect to have Robin - who co-founded the club - join us for a couple of hours.
We also had three of our legendary Junior racers together for the first time - Ned, Corey and Jerome are the only juniors to have won more than one A final. It was fitting that Jerome got his third race winner's medal on Wednesday to tie with Corey on three wins. Between them, they have 22 junior championship trophies and 51 junior medals.
I'm also looking forward to seeing the write-up in the Worthing Journal - a glossy monthly that is also celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.
