Transit is a must-have...

George does his with a low-rider stance , so I had to raise mine a bit.

Mk1 Transit.

From Pendle Slot Racing many years ago. I think that Steve De Haviland was the source.  Choc-Ice Gareth does a version also.

Continuing on the Porsche theme from my previous post, I recently got these lovelies:

^^^ that's my first Slotwings car, but won't be venturing on the track, it's just for looking at. And it does look really nice. I believe it's model of a high speed first response fire car used on circuits such as Nurburgring, and in particular at Nikki Lauda's big crash.

This one, not sure if it's a real car or not. It's a SCX 2018 Club Car, I assume given the Scalextric branding a car for the Spanish market only, ad I also assume being 2018 it's from the old SCX not the newly reawakened 2019 SCX. Saw a couple come up recently on eBay and had to make a quick decision whether they were rare or those ones were the first of a flood and would become cheaper if I waited. Hopefully I made the right decision!

Another recent buy, I've been looking forward to getting this site I saw it at the Slot Fest in May. The AMC Javelin isn't a car I know much about, and it's got an unusual look to it. To my eye the front is a bit Princess, the rear a bit Renault 15/17.

It's odd looking. I like it.

Next, a couple of Teamslot police RS2000s. Teamslot are a company I wouldn't normally touch with a bargepole based on previous experience of their low quality disappointing tat. I made an exception for these, and guess what, one of them was such a mess it had to be sent back.

Body didn't fit with chassis which was buckled and one of the rear tyres had a moulding flash on it so big the wheel wouldn't turn as it hit the arch. And they're not exactly cheap either. Fortunately Pendles were an absolute pleasure and made the return/swap process really simple.

Here's the first release:

And now for some supercars/hypercars/whatever, this end of the market doesn't really interest me, but I do feel an overpowering need to buy them in slot car form.

First a Scalextric Audi R8 police, this is the individual car released this/last year, can't remember.

Obviously this one is completely different from the set only Audi R8 Police released a few years ago...

Yep, couldn't be more different.

Some International Supercars, ready for some Italian, British and German High Speed Police Enforcement.
First two are Scalextric Swapmeet special editions, the last is a standard issue Carrera:

Hello Richard,
You covered a lot of ground there...

I like both Porsches.
Escort is great when its good, but terrible when its not good!
State Trooper Javelin in light blue seems wrong for a cop car.
Jury still out on the Audi...
Corvettes are OK.
Mercedes is nice.
McLaren - I wouldn't complain if one of those stopped me for speeding (#SelfieTime).
Lamborghini - Polizia cars are generally blue so light blue is appropriate and cool in this case.

Reference the Corvette with roof lights - are those fed via a battery that has to be re-charged and therefore the lights don't come on for a couple of minutes?  Very irritating !!
