This is something I've been working on for the past 18 months - consolidating all our 1:32 scale racing into three coherent rule sets...
- Standard Ready-to-Run - for most of our WHO Digital racing, plus the new WHO Slot Rally Championship
- WHO GT Championship & LMDh - based on the DiSCA GT4 Clubman Scalextric standards
- WHO Kit Build - for the WHO Can-Am class and all WHO Goodwood Revival classes (except the RAC TT Celebration).
This will be very text-heavy, but here's a preview of the final draft of these three rule sets before they are included in the 2027 WHO Digital and WHO Slot Rally brochures.
Of course, any observations, concerns or suggestions would be very helpful.

WHO Racing 1/32 scale standard RTR rules
These are standardised regulations for Ready-to-Run (RTR) models from manufacturers permitted in our WHO Digital classes and WHO Slot Rally Championship.
Permitted manufacturers include: Scalextric, Pioneer, Carrera, SCX, Fly (FlySlot, SlotWings etc), Policar Home Racing, Scaleauto Homeseries, Reprotech, Vanquish. See event information for eligibility.
Additional modifications are permitted in the WHO GT Championship and LMDh class (see separate DiSCA GT4 rule set). Can-Am and Goodwood Revival classes permit these and other RTR manufacturers (including Ninco, Slot.it, Policar and MR Slotcar) under Goodwood Kit-build regulations. Cars running to Slot Rally GB rules are welcome at WHO Slot Rally events, but are not eligible for class honours or championship points.
1. General
Cars must be 1:32 scale models of 1:1 cars suitable for the class being run. All parts must be commercially available. Cars may be driven by two or four wheel drive. No traction magnets allowed. Ballast may be added but must be firmly attached inside the car. It is expected that cars will be fully decorated inside and out with an appropriate livery… Because style matters!
2. Body
Bodies must be fully detailed and painted hard plastic mouldings, fitted with transparent windows and an interior. Minor bodywork trims and details such as mirrors, spotlights and aerials may be omitted. Bodies and window glass must be complete and unmodified. Bodies may be repainted. All cars should carry at least three racing numbers. The body must be mounted to the chassis using the original fixing locations and methods. Any screws and washers may be used. Body to chassis mounting posts must not be lowered in any way. Tabs and braces may be removed to aid body float.
2a. Cockpit/interior
Original cockpit must be used and include full driver, roll bar and all detailing parts. The cockpit may be lightly trimmed for the benefit of fit and clearances. Rally cars must have driver and co-driver figures, with pace notes.
3. Chassis
The chassis must be the item originally intended for the body being used. 3D printed chassis are not permitted. Special edition racing chassis (e.g. Scalextric PCR, Fly Racing and EVO, SCX PRO) are not permitted. No modifications to the motor, axle or guide mountings positions. Minor sanding of the chassis edges is permitted to allow the body to move freely on the chassis. Body mounting posts on the chassis may be shaved or lightly sanded to remove lips and aid body float.
4. Motors & Motor Mounting
Motors must be original to the model entered, but rated at no higher than 18k rpm. Motors must not be modified from manufacturer’s specification. Motors must be mounted in either an inline or sidewinder configuration, as per the original model. Motors may be glued in place. Permitted lower-revving replacement motor for slim-can (FF-050) models is the 16k rpm Pendle PSR AC1.
5. Wheels & Tyres
Wheels must be plastic and original to the model entered. All wheels must have tyres. Tyres must be made of black rubber or urethane. Tyres may be glued, trued and coated, but must be dry to the touch at the start of each race. Tyre width should match the original and should not protrude from wheel arches.
6. Gears, axles and bearings
Axles, gears, pinions and bearings must be original to the manufacturer and model entered.
7. Guides
Apart from front-motored and Carrera models, all cars must use the original guide, as supplied with the car, using original method of attaching braids. The guide blade and stem may be trimmed or sanded to aid clearances. Any screws, washers or springs may be used. Front-motored cars may use a SureChange guide. For Carrera models, Carrera (black or red) or BRM S-126 alternative may be used and must be trimmed to a maximum depth of 7mm, maximum width of 1.5mm, maximum length of 25mm and notched at the front.
8. Braids
Any braids may be used. Braids must be cut so they do not protrude beyond the rear of the guide flag. Braids must be replaced if they become worn or frayed.
9. Lights & wiring
Lights may be required for some race formats (eg team endurance races), so original headlights and tail-lights should remain, if fitted. Additional lights may be added. Original wiring may be re-soldered or replaced. For digital cars, a ferrite man filter must be present between the digital chip and motor – and second ferrite man may be added between the braids and chip.
10. Dimensions & weight restrictions
Some classes operate with a maximum rear track (width measured to the outside of each tyre). Pioneer Legends = 65mm. Richmond Trophy = 55mm. Slot Rally Classic = 58mm. Slot Rally 80s/90s = 60mm. Slot Rally Modern = 62mm. No WHO classes currently run with any weight restrictions.
11. Digital Chip
For digital cars, a Scalextric C8515/6 EasyFit digital plug (any version), Scalextric C7005/6 retro-fit chip or Slot.it SP15 (any version) can be used. Slot Rally events run on analogue track – no digital chip is required. The board on a C8515 digital plug may be tilted or raised to recess the LED. The board on a C8515 or C8516 digital plug may be removed from the plate and fitted in a non-DPR car.

WHO Racing 1/32 scale GT Championship & LMDh rules
WHO GT Championship and LMDh (Le Mans Daytona hybrid) cars run to our local interpretation of DiSCA GT4 Clubman Scalextric standards. These guidelines allow limited alternatives to standard parts, to overcome poor availability of Scalextric spares and encourage resilience in these longer-format two and four hour races.
1. General
Cars must be a high-detail Scalextric DPR model from the supplied list. All parts must be commercially available. No traction magnets allowed. Ballast may be added but must be firmly attached inside the car. It is expected that cars will be fully decorated inside and out with an appropriate livery… Because style matters!
2. Body
Rear wings must remain fitted at all times and may be rubber mounted. Minor bodywork trims and details such as mirrors and aerials may be omitted.
Sidewinder cars may use vac-formed interior as a Balance of Performance measure.
3. Chassis
The chassis must be an original Scalextric chassis with either in-line or sidewinder motor orientation. PCR chassis are not allowed.
All cars must be powered by an unmodified Scalextric 18,000 rpm S-can motor. Motors must not be modified from manufacturer’s specification. Motors must be mounted in either an inline or sidewinder configuration, as per the original model. Motors may be glued in place.
5. Wheels & Tyres
Wheels may be original Scalextric or 17.3mm diameter Slot.it plastic wheels, fitted with appropriate Slot.it inserts. All wheels must have tyres. Tyres must be made of black rubber or urethane. Tyres may be glued, trued and coated, but must be dry to the touch at the start of each race. Maximum width of rear tyres is 11.5mm. When viewed from above, tyre edges must be contained within the widest point of the wheel arch.
6. Gears, axles and bearings
Gears must be standard Scalextric plastic items only – 9:27 for inline or 11:36 for sidewinder. Axles are free, but must be solid steel. Bearings and spacers are free, but only concentric plain bearings are allowed. Ball bearings are illegal.
7. Guides
Any standard-depth guide can be used together with an adapter (eg Johnny’s Workshop, Pendles or Andi Rowland).
8. Braids
Any braids may be used. Braids must be cut so they do not protrude beyond the rear of the guide flag. Braids must be replaced if they become worn or frayed.
9. Lights & wiring
Lights are required for the endurance race formats, so original headlights and tail-lights should remain, if fitted. Additional lights may be added. Original wiring may be re-soldered or replaced. A ferrite man filter (or new resistor set-up) must be present between the digital chip and motor – and second ferrite man may be added between the braids and chip.
10. Dimensions & weight restrictions
There are no width or weight restrictions, except that tyre edges must be contained within the widest point of the wheel arch when viewed from above.
11. Digital Chip
A Scalextric C8515/6 EasyFit digital plug (any version), Scalextric C7005/6 retro-fit chip or Slot.it SP15 (any version) can be used. The board on a C8515 digital plug may be tilted or raised to recess the LED.

1. General
Cars must be 1:32 scale models of 1:1 cars suitable for the class being run. All parts must be commercially available. Cars may be driven by two or four wheel drive. No traction magnets allowed. Ballast may be added but must be inside the car. It is expected that cars will be fully decorated inside and out with an appropriate livery… Because style matters!
2. Body
For RTR cars, bodies, windscreens, window glass, interiors and all detailing parts must be used complete and unmodified. Kits must have hard plastic or resin bodies, but may use vacuum-formed windows. All cars should be decorated in a suitable period style and must carry at least three racing numbers.
2a. Cockpit/interior
All cars must be fitted with either the complete supplied interior or a vacuum-formed interior, suitably decorated and with a detailed driver head, plus shoulders, arms & top of steering wheel.
3. Chassis
All cars must use a moulded plastic, cast resin or 3D printed chassis, which may be supplied with the model or sourced separately. No modifications to the motor, axle or guide mountings positions. Minor sanding of the chassis edges is permitted to allow the body to move freely on the chassis.
4. Motors & Motor Mounting
All cars must use an unmodified Scalextric Mabuchi S 18k motor, PSR AC6 double-shaft can or PSR AC1 for FF-050 powered cars. For chassis designed to use a motor pod, a genuine Slot.it inline or sidewinder motor pod must be used. Motors may be glued into place. Motor cans in Slot.it pods must be insulated from the circuit rails.
5. Wheels & Tyres
Wheels may be plastic or alloy with suitable wheel inserts fitted. Tyre width and diameter are specified in the class regulations (see below). Any rubber or urethane tyres are permitted. Front tyres can be coated in superglue or varnish to reduce grip. Tyres may be glued and trued. No tyre additives that leave residue on the tyres or track may be used.
6. Gears, axles, bearings and spacers
Cars can use any make of components, but must use a standard Scalextric gear ratio:
● Sidewinder - 11T pinion & 36T spur gear.
● Inline - 9T pinion & 27T crown gear.
7. Guides
Cars may use any standard-depth (not wood track) guide.
8. Braids
Any braids may be used. Braids must be cut so they do not protrude beyond the rear of the guide flag. Braids must be replaced if they become worn or frayed.
11. Digital Chip
