Race report and results - 5thMarch 2026 - Sports followed by the NSR Mosler ‘Club Challenge 2026’ #2 -
.
SPORTS
.
Another grand turnout tonight as eleven club members helped put together a rapid night's racing.
.
With nearly everyone racing NSR Moslers later in the evening alternative options were chosen for the Sports race - except Mike who thought we were racing Saloons and only brought one car, his Moggy Racer Small Saloon which was hugely out-gunned but he enjoyed racing it.
.
Eight of us raced Prostock Class cars, split 50/50 NSR and SlotIt with the other two racing metal chassis Open Class cars.
.
Two black Audi LMP’s in the same race (twice), what could go wrong… and it did, that confusion possibly costing Paul a podium place.
.
Kev’s GT40 originally planned to make it’s race debut a couple of weeks ago in the GT40 night had a good dice with Jamie’s bright orange Audi with the GT40 finishing on the top of the podium ahead of the Audi.
Third place was between Brian’s Audi, Macaulay’s Nissan and Paul’s Audi. With the many incidents tonight any of those three could have come out top.
.
Brian H opted to race an upgraded Scalextric Jaguar XKRS in his first race but had to swap for an NSR Porsche for the other two races when the motor jumped out of the motor mount in the Jag. Matthew racing the club NSR Mosler drove well to stay comfortably ahead of Brian’s Jag.
.
Terry, racing one of the two SlotIt Audis tonight, had a best run in the Yellow lane.
.
Geoff’s Revoslot Toyota GT1 got a runout for the first time in ages and went as good as the club Revos which is high praise indeed. He was up against Andy’s brass chassis Ford GT40 which was too quick for the Toyota overall.
.
NSR MOSLER ‘CLUB CHALLENGE 2026’ #2 (plus Sports part 2) - track at 11 volts
.
No Championship this year but we’re still racing each other, separately from the other Sports racers.
.
Four regular NSR Mosler ‘Club Challenge’ racers plus Paul as a new challenger with a brand new car and Geoff as an honorary entrant having been in the original two series, making six eligible cars.
.
Those of us who raced the first ‘challenge’ of 2026 a few weeks ago had a bit more grip this time as the tyres hadn’t sat unused for months. Andy, Paul & Geoff were a little down on grip but going very nicely.
Paul’s new Mosler’s tyres will quickly polish on the track in the next ‘Challenge’. It will also take him a bit of time to find the sweet spot for the club controller as we’re all different with settings.
Geoff’s Clarion Mosler was able to get round in the 5.9’s last time he raced it, those fast times will return after a couple more runs to get the tyres beach up to speed.
Andy and Brian L both managed to jump lanes over the timing strip, missing a lap (later added in the results), they finished just over one lap apart overall with Kev’s sticker bomb Mosler comfortably ahead with a 30 lap run in Blue lane and a high 5.7s lap. Despite lacking a little grip Andy’s Gulf Mosler was flying round in the 5.9’s. Mike’s Mosler also managed to get into the 5.9’s but lacked pace in the Yellow lane in the last race of the night against Brian & Kev.
I always thought Brian’s Stealth Grey Mosler was the fastest of them all, an opinion backed up by another racer last night, luck/timing/karma or whatever hasn’t been with Brian’s Mosler so far this year, as the Manx would say ‘Traa dy liooar’ (time enough).
.
Sports (part 2)
.
Jamie, Brian H, Macaulay, Matthew & Terry raced each other with Jamie, Brian & Macaulay racing Moslers, Matthew racing a Ferrari 250 GTO and Terry a different colour Audi R8C which might have been a good idea to race it in the Sports racing earlier to avoid confusion in those two races.
Jamie’s bright orange Mosler finished comfortably ahead of Brian H’s club Mosler. Since putting a standard 25k motor in his Mosler, Jamie has become much more consistent and competitive. Brian H did well with the club Mosler, managing to get into the 6.2’s.
Macaulay’s Nissan R89C ended up between the two cars ahead and the two behind, Matthew’s Ferrari 250 & Terry’s Audi R8C a lap apart.
.
‘50p Trophy’...
Brian will endeavour to award the 50p Trophy straight after the final results so that he doesn’t forget, this weeks award was to Paul for his three heat wins with his SlotIt Audi R8C… but Paul had already left to go home after his racing.
.
…enjoy the two videos!

Next week is Slot Rally, four cars each, three unique Rally stages, twelve timed runs… enjoy!
