29th October 2025
Undara Circuit Race Write-up: Dominance and Close Battles. Race results and podium from the 9 different races at the Undara Circuit, featuring four drivers: Paul, Johnno, Deeks, and Ray.

This series of nine races at the Undara Circuit showcased a remarkable level of competition and consistency, with Paul establishing himself as the premier driver, winning seven out of the nine events on his home track. However, the competition was fierce, with the other drivers; Ray, Johnno, and Deeks consistently challenging and occasionally breaking Paul's dominance.

Race-by-Race Analysis
1. Paul's Winning Streak (7 Wins)
Paul was the undeniable powerhouse, taking the top step in every Slot.it, Sideways, and Revo race:
  • Sideways Huracans: This was Paul's most commanding win, with a final score of 104.89, the highest score of all 9 races. He also clocked a blistering 6.126s lap, setting the Current Race Best Lap and coming extremely close to his own overall Race Record Lap of 6.083s.
  • Slot.it Group C & LMP, Sideways Group 5, Revo's, Slot.it Can-Am: Paul maintained his dominance, winning comfortably in these categories. He set the Current Race Best Lap in all of them, demonstrating not only superior consistency but also the fastest single-lap pace in most races.
  • Trans Am: A tight victory for Paul (88.47 Score) over Ray (88.22 Score). Johnno managed to set the Current Race Best Lap (7.304s), indicating how closely fought this race was on speed, despite the score gap.
2. Challenging Winners (2 Wins)
Ray and Deeks successfully dethroned Paul in two key events:
  • GT International (Winner: Ray): Ray delivered a superb performance, winning with a score of 96.86 and also setting the Current Race Best Lap of 6.705s. Paul finished second, over 7.5 points behind, marking one of his largest deficits.
  • RWYB 15 (Winner: Deeks): This "Run What Ya Brung" event saw a significant shake-up. Deeks took the win (68.69 Score), with Paul finishing second. Notably, this was a race with overall slower lap times and scores (Deeks' best lap was 8.003s), suggesting challenging conditions or different car specifications leveled the playing field, allowing Deeks to capitalize on consistency.
Ray was the most consistent challenger, finishing in second place four times and securing his win in the GT International race. His ability to challenge Paul's pace was clear in the Sideways Huracans race, where his best lap of 6.227s was very close to Paul's 6.126s.

Johnno was the podium mainstay, with two second-place and three third-place finishes. His standout performance was in the Trans-Am race, where he set the Current Race Best Lap (7.304s), demonstrating superior single-lap speed despite finishing third.

Deeks was the most improved performer over the series. While he generally finished 3rd or 4th, his stunning victory in the RWYB race proves his capability to win when conditions or machinery favor consistency over raw speed.

Lap Time and Record Analysis
Paul's overall dominance is underpinned by his control of the circuit's record books:
  • Race Record Lap: Paul holds the Race Record Lap in all nine classes, with the fastest being an incredible 6.083s in the Sideways Huracans category.
  • Current Race Best Lap: Paul set the Current Race Best Lap in six out of the nine races. Ray set it twice, and Johnno set it once. This confirms that while others can beat him on overall score, Paul is usually the fastest driver on track over a single lap.
Conclusion: Paul, The Undara Champion
The race series at the Undara Circuit can be summarized as a display of Paul's sustained excellence. His seven victories and complete ownership of the circuit's Race Record Lap for every class mark him as the overall champion of this series.

However, the wins by Ray (GT International) and Deeks (RWYB), along with Johnno's ability to sometimes set the fastest single lap, ensured the series was not a total runaway, with all four drivers demonstrating the skill to achieve a podium finish.

Race Day Report: Undara Circuit

Paulo Dominates, Ray Strikes Back, but LMP Gremlins Steal the Show
It was another high-octane day of slot car racing at the Undara Circuit, featuring a five-driver lineup battling across seven distinct classes. While Paulo asserted his general dominance and Ray mounted several strong challenges, the headline story of the day was the sheer chaos that engulfed the Slot it LMP class.

The LMP Meltdown
If there was a theme for the Slot it LMP round, it was "survival of the fittest." It was truly a day for LMP failures, turning the usual pecking order on its head.

The timing screens told a confusing story: Johnno set a blistering pace, clocking the "Current Race Best Lap" of 6.393 seconds. However, pure speed couldn't overcome serious issues on the track, as Johnno finished dead last. The chaos in the mid-field was equally palpable, with Deeks and Ray finishing over 44 laps behind the leaders, huge gaps suggesting significant incidents or mechanical failures.

Emerging from the carnage was Ian. Usually found battling further down the order in other classes, Ian drove a remarkably clean and steady race amidst the failures around him. He held off a hard-charging Paulo to take a shock victory by just half a lap (101.94 laps to 101.39), proving that in LMP racing, sometimes just finishing is half the battle.

Paulo's Powerhouse Performance
Outside of the LMP anomaly, Paulo was the man to beat, showcasing incredible consistency and speed across multiple categories.
  • Trans Am: Paulo opened with a comfortable win, putting over 15 laps on the field and setting the pace with a 7.208 best lap.
  • Slot it Group C: Returning to normality after the LMP round, Paulo stamped his authority here, winning with 101.51 laps and the fastest lap of 6.456.
  • Sideways Huracans: This was arguably the closest finish of the day. Paulo just barely edged out Ray in a thriller, taking the win by a razor-thin margin of 0.21 laps.
  • Revo's: Paulo capped off his strong day with another win, holding off a very competitive Johnno by just under a lap.
Ray's Resurgence
Ray ensured it wasn't entirely the Paulo show, putting together some fantastic performances in the faster GT classes.
  • GT International: Ray took top honours here, completing 103.73 laps to beat Paulo by over a lap, despite Paulo snagging the fastest lap of the race (6.535).
  • Sideways Group 5: Ray secured his most dominant win of the day in this class. He finished more than 4 laps clear of Paulo, putting in a commanding drive with a score of 102.79.

Mid-Pack Battles
Behind the leaders, Johnno and Deeks traded positions all day. While Johnno suffered the heartbreak of the LMP round, he bounced back with strong second-place finishes in Trans Am and Revo's, and secured the fastest lap in the Revo's class. Deeks was a model of consistency, securing third place in five out of the seven races.

Summary
It was a day of intense competition at Undara Circuit, defined by Paulo’s multi-class mastery and Ray’s brilliant GT performances. But the day will be remembered for the bizarre and brutal Slot it LMP race, where mechanical failures opened the door for Ian to claim a memorable underdog victory.
