Race report and results - 20th March 2025 - Grand Prix followed by Saloons
.
Grand Prix

.
It was a bit quiet tonight, enough to fill the grid…but no marshals…so it was a case of “TRACK” (other words and phrases were also heard as a car left the drivers lane…not all repeatable in public)
.
Six minutes was chosen as the length of the heats which would allow for lots of interruptions whilst still getting decent track time.
.
Brian started the Grand Prix event with a yellow Lancia Ferrari D50 and swapped it for his trusty Vanwall after the Lancia jumped out of the slot, bounced off the corner barrier and into the wrong lane then proceeded at full chat up the short start/finish straight then flew right across the track bouncing an inch in front of Kev’s Mercedes then being planted back in the correct lane to discover one rear wheel wasn’t touching the track which brought out the Yellow flags.
…the Vanwall finished off the race and event without a hitch.
.
Ed’s Lancia D50 is quick and consistent enough to give other drivers a run for their money, Brian couldn’t keep up with it when he was racing the Lancia Ferrari.
.
Other than that and the umpteen deslots, the rest of the Grand Prix racing was fine…
…until it was time to save the race results and the computer program refused to save the results as it couldn’t ‘find’ the appropriate file to export it to…I’ll have to go in on Thursday morning and reload the program

.
Saloons

.
It was time for Ed’s trusty Ninco Opel as a B2B runner and was joined by Kev’s B2B SCX Mercedes DTM.
Brian chose to race his SlotIt Opel Calibra and must have been favourite for overall top score…but not to be, needing one and three quarter laps in the last race whilst in the Blue lane to catch Kev’s Merc in the Red lane, he got half a lap ahead then threw the lead away, did the same later in the race and towards the final few laps only finished a few car lengths ahead, ah well, maybe next time.
.
Ed drove his Opel well, managing to get in the low 7’s, he’s getting a few cars that are now really good runners.
.
The results are taken from the video as mentioned earlier, something isn’t right with the computer program.

Race report and results - 27th March 2025 - Club Revoslots followed by Sports
.
Club Revoslots

.
A pretty good turnout tonight, five of us meant two marshals per race.
.
The cars were given a check over by Chris, braids cleaned then quite a few practice laps for the guys in Heat #1 to scuff the old rubber off the surface off the tyres as they’ve been sat in the cupboard for 12 weeks.
.
A few of the body screws needed backing off a little but apart from that and the braid clean they run the same every time we race them.
.
Gav said he hadn’t driven these before which I find hard to believe as we’ve had them for over two years.  It took him a while to get the hang of driving them as they need a different driving technique, you can’t throw them into corners like other cars.
.
Best scores were with the following cars:
Kev - Marcos
Brian - Viper
Chris - Marcos
Gav - Marcos
Ed - Marcos
.
Chris sat right in the middle between Ed & Gav who finished on the same lap and Kev & Brian who’s Red lane and Blue lane scores added together were almost identical, the 1.5 extra laps Kev managed with the Marcos deciding the matter.

.
Sports

.
Ed decided to race his Revo Porsche, I did ask why he decided to race a Revoslot straight after the club Revoslots but I wasn’t aware he’d raced it before in Sports…but I definitely do now…it goes pretty good too and a fabulous looking car it is (even as a non-Porsche fan).
.
“Right Gav, what Ferrari are you racing in Sports?”
“My Audi R18…”
…and it was quick enough to worry you if you didn’t get ahead enough going into the next corner.
.
Chris raced his favourite Dome Judd, he didn’t get the chance to race Ed & Gav together which would have been a good race, who needs a Mosler?
.
As it turned out Brian did, practicing with two varieties and chose the quick one.
.
Kev has resurrected a Proslot Ferrari 355 as a Back2Basics entry and decided to race that as he liked how it ran but couldn’t keep up with Brians Mosler overall but did manage to beat it in the last race of the night (the Ferrari was in Blue lane and the Mosler in Red lane which helps).

Next week is NSR Mosler ‘Club Challenge 2025’ #3 followed by F1…Andy will be back from Turkey/Greece and Chris should be down also…it’ll be a fast night!

Thanks Ken.

I had a few weeks where the webcams and software seemed to have problems, I tried changing computer, laptop, software...in the end I brought my own laptop and realised I was changing settings that the webcams couldn't cope with, now I let the software decide and it's been great now for many weeks.

I strip out the voice audio with CapCut to save possible embarrassment and offence then leave it uploading overnight and add the timelines in afterwards so you can click on certain races.

Race report and results - 3rd April 2025 - NSR Mosler ‘Club Challenge 2025’ #3 followed by F1
.
NSR Mosler ‘Club Challenge 2025’ #3

.
A really good turnout tonight, six of us meant lots of close racing and hopefully an easy night for the marshals.
.
Last time out with these, Mike got his first sub six second laps, a couple of 5.9’s was great going.  Tonight however he went even faster, dropping into the 5.8 second times for the first time ever which is brilliant!...I don’t know what happened in his first heat though as he couldn’t get round under 6.5 seconds.
.
Chris & Gav were racing the Mosler Club Challenge 2025 for the first time and both went really well, fastest laps were very good, 6.1 for Chris, 6.2 for Gav.  Chris was the more consistent and wasn’t far behind Brian in 3rd place in the end.  Both drivers' best race was the final one, 29 for Chris, 27 for Gav.
.
Kev raced Chris & Gav tonight and kept it in the slot the most which is always a help and was slightly quicker than Andy & Brian on hot lap pace to finish a little ahead of the chasers.
.
The final heat was a great race to finish Mosler Challenge 2025 #3 as Andy got off to a stormer, lead the first 15 laps with ease…then threw it into the wall…Brian’s ‘Grey Ghost’ took the lead, for two laps…before ‘T’-boning Mike’s car in the first right hander…Mike’s metallic red ‘Mosler’ then resumed the leading car role for five laps…by which time Andy’s ‘Gulf Mosler’ was ready to snatch the baton back for the last 30 seconds of the race.

.
F1

.
F1’s are very wide and open wheeled racing creates problems in the chicanes which kept the marshals busy and the patience for the victims of deslotted cars wearing thin.
.
Five Standard Class NSR F1’s and one ‘Modified Class’ SCX Minardi
.
Andy’s yellow NSR was easily the fastest F1 on the track tonight but you can’t drive through wreckage in a race car as he lost about two laps in total…that’s racing as they say.
.
Brian kept his head down and just did the laps, in the end finishing comfortably ahead of Mike but a fair way off the pace of Andy’s class winning F1.
.
Kev’s SCX Minardi has seen quite a few races since its resurrection last year, not as quick as the fastest NSR’s but staying out of other drivers crashes was a big plus, enabling his score to be highest of the night.
.
Chris & Mike racing for position again.  Mike was quicker with the Moslers but couldn’t match Chris’s overall score, this time with the NSR F1’s, Chris was quicker but couldn’t match Mike’s overall score.
.
Gav likes these NSR F1’s…he’s always first off the line but his F1 looks nervous in right hand corners and found itself in trouble a couple of times.  Not as quick and consistent as his Mosler but a smooth runner.
.
So the end of another great night of racing and a not so quiet time for the marshals after all.
