Hi Guys,
a mate has brought a load of Airfix track and it is in mint condition.
He has offered me some to make a 4 lane oval for my midget racing.
What is your opinion's on this type of track? has it got better grip that Scalextric Sport(that can't be hard to beat)
If anyone has their track made with this brand I'd love to see some car action.
Cheers
Tony

Hi Tony
I love Airfix track! Never got rid of mine - birthday 1963!.
It is now over 80 ft in length, still going strong with Scalextric APB and lane changers spliced in. It is copper taped to overcome electrical continuity issues with the little copper contacts and Scalextric cars run on it really well.

Thanks Tim,
thats good to know it works well.
The grip looks pretty good to me on the pics he's shown me, I'll probably paint it to look like dirt as it's going to be a oval.
Your track looks really cool.
Cheers
Tony

Are there "joiners" with the track? I recall problems with those not staying in situ, rising up.
Apologies for the picture - should have reviewed before posting!
As for the nylon track connectors they work fine if the track is on a solid base. On a carpet not so good.
