A while ago I had a mishap with a resin shell that I wanted to repaint. I used my usual method of dunking it a bath of meths, but the resin softened before the paint. Result?.... One b******d car.
Was I unlucky with this one, or should I have used a different method?
Thanks in anticipation,
Stuart.
Best regards,
Stuart.

Sounds more than a dunking, more like a leave in a tub for a few hours or more.
Life is like a box of Slot cars...

You could be right, Kevan, I don't remember now - it was a while ago. All I know is the resin softened before the paint did.
Best regards,
Stuart.

Best not to use chemicals on resin bodies or they turn to goo.
Sand, prime, then repaint.

I use kitchen paper wet with paint thinner to wipe paint away from resin bodies. It has always worked with no problems.I had paid the price for alcohol some years ago.The same happens to old Scalextric bodies,i have a C52 Escort somewhere distorted after beeing immersed in alcohol

On resin bodies I have used commercially available paint stripper.
That toxic caustic stuff that will burn out your nostrils, trachea and lungs given a good sniff.
Brush on and as soon as the paint crinkles scrub it off under flowing water....dry and repeat.
I have also ruined a body in meths. I soaked it and the thing warped and distorted badly.
