What cars have you built and latest bodies from 3DP

On a roll with the NASCAR trucks, from the original CAD file have now created 2 more versions of the NASCAR trucks (Chevy & Toyota) and as shown previously a F150 as well.

Revisions revolve around changing the front bonnet (hood) & grill and rear but keeping the overall wheel base etc, so these can be matched for club racing.

I like the Lola and the Lotus 40.....

I always figure that I am getting decals for a car I wouldn't otherwise have.    And if you order a bunch it takes a little of the sting from the shipping.

Looks like an impressive hypercar field shaping up.

I take it they are resin prints Anthony ?
They look impressive, did you draw them up yourself ?
Out of curiosity, what are the hypercar bodies coming in at weight wise ?

TR8 and Datsun 260 IMSA prints.

Bodyshells are a mix of my CAD parts (arches, front dams, new rear sections and a complete new front for the Datsun) grafted to 3D scans of old Scalex body shells i.e the TR7 and Datsun 260. Parts shown from the printer with supports removed. Both shells printed vertically and hence the rears are a separate section to be glued on afterwards.

Note the Datsun was printed at 0.2mm layer height by mistake so apart from the front dam and bumper (which can be sanded) still came out usable.

Ferrari 499P

Never been that fussed by the LMH cars that look very similar and seem to bear a passing resemblance to Darth Vader's hat, but was impressed by Anthony's collection so had a peruse on the web for files. The Ferrari 499P caught my eye so bought the file collection (1/8, 1/10 &1/24 plus separated parts of the shell) from CGTrader and using the 1/24 STL file scaled down to 1/32 printed this.

The file is not the easiest to manipulate as there are mesh errors, but after a lot of to & fro between Blender and Meshmixer managed to edit the file as needed to get a 1st off to see where the problems are. The file is high definition which is excellent for quality but strains the PC to edit due to the large file sizes incurred.

Will have a another go on this, as the shell weight is 35 grms which is a porker by any ones standards so this needs to go on a diet, and need to re-look at the vertical supports arrangement around the rear.

File is printed vertically on a FDM printer at 0.1mm layer height using Bambu labs PLA tough which gives a nice gloss finish.

Cheers
