Icons8-finish-flag-32

Another class ready to go for Shenanigans Raceway.

This will be a magnet class running the Scalextric Ginetta G60-LT-P1 cars. The cars will stay in their respective lanes with racers rotating through the drivers stations.

From this will also come a Fuel Race as well for the class.

I've been giving thought to organising a Meet'n'Greet & Tuning Afternoon now for some time and would like to put it out that perhaps we could try for a weekend, such as Saturday 2nd April, say 1pm?

This gives us all time to think about it, make any arrangements needed, if this day, date and time suits everyone, please get back to me via text or phone 0403 213 901

From there, we can chat about organising weekly, fortnightly or monthly meets, times and days can be discussed, there is no right or wrong thought so bring them along  Bigsmile  if you have a friend who is interested, by all means bring them along also.

Bring along your cars and parts that you would like help with, Shenanigans Raceway will have tools available for you to use.

Track is positive wired so bring your controller along if you have one

Coffee, Tea and biscuits provided.

Thanks
Johnno

Wednesday 30 March Race Write-up

I've managed to make contact with another racer (returning to this hobby after a three year hiatus) to race with us at Shenanigans. Lindsay made the trip from Stockton, about 2 hours south from me, that's dedication, he appears willing to make the weekly trip for racing, so hopefully things align.

Lindsay Byron was in attendance today, his first visit to Shenanigans. It was a great pleasure meeting Lindsay for the first time and look forward to further race meets with him.

Being first time to Shenanigans I have to say that Lindsay will be another great addition to the new group, his lap times are phenomenal to say the least, wow

Some photos and times from the Meet'n'Greet afternoon at Shenanigans Raceway.

I've also turned the chicane module around 180 degrees so that the chicane is now on the outside with a nice long straight on the inside of the track. Flow's pretty good I think.

We ran a 1:24 BRM Mini Cooper Fuel Race followed by another straight up 1:24 BRM Mini Cooper Race.

Was great to see Ian's track times, no doubt these will become even better once he is back in the slot racing.

Wednesday 6th April 2022

After the Meet'n'Greet & Tuning afternoon it was tentatively agreed that Wednesday currently suits all of us for weekly racing.

Today saw Stephen driving up from Warners Bay and who is also keen to join in weekly racing with the group, now that's dedication. Thanks for making the trip Stephen, it is appreciated and glad to see you here and on the track.

The afternoon was a busy and boisterous one in quite some time :) a huge thankyou to Paul for helping Stephen with with his car tuning and repairs throughout the afternoon within the group while the rest of us got some laps down, joining in later with the Fuel race.

To make things a little easier I turned the track voltage down to 10volts, though we still saw some deslots by Ian, even with a magnet car LOL.

For quite some time we just kept the practice mode of Race Coordinator active, resetting the times along the way.

Today was the first that we had a female join us in racing and was great to see Robyn here and racing. It took some coaxing to keep Robyn on the driver rostrum and racing. After a while I introduced the 1:24 BRM Mini Coopers to Ian and Robyn. Robyn immediately took to the Mini's with full gusto, I think she found 'her' car, she drove the Mini's like she stole them, even having fewer deslots, colour me impressed, along with the track times that matched a non-magnet car and rookie. Was great to have Ian and Robyn join us, hopefully they will continue.

Jeffery made an appearance for the day, bringing along some of his unneeded cars to sell as well, thanks Jeffery and will work on getting them sold asap for you. Was great to see you and your cars on the track mate.

Early afternoon we decided to get a race in, this being a Host Fuel BRM 1:24 Mini Cooper, the times were very close with Johnno just beating Paul by thousandth's of seconds just taking 1st place.

Unable to attend today were Kevin and Narvin and Lindsay Bryon, all were missed and hopefully we will see you at the next meet.

April 20th 2022

Today saw us with a smaller group of racers, it is Easter and another long weekend is approaching fast so is expected somewhat. It will be great to see Lindsay join us when he returns from his Wing Racing in Melbourne.

Paul graciously brought his backup Slot.it SCP2 controller in for Robyn and Ian to trial for the day to decide if they liked it or not while I supplied my backup TruSpeed PWMII controller for the same trial.  Along with the controller, Paul also provided four of his Ninco 1 cars for a race for those that don't yet have this class, thanks mate.

I do have to say it is fantastic having Robyn in the group, Robyn is our first female to join us and the racing and she certainly has found her favourite car, the 1:24 BRM Mini Cooper, she can drive and race this car exceptionally well, she has enjoyed the car so much hat she bought her own Mini to race, with some tuning and sanding of the body to stop rubbing the mini will certainly break in nicely over time.

At the start of the racing day an hour is put in with practice mode and some car tuning, from there we kicked off the afternoon with the following class racing:
1. Ninco 1's,
2. 1:24 BRM Mini Cooper Fuel Race,
3. Run What Ya Brung (a mixed class), and,
4. Revoslot cars.

Ian (Robyn's partner) is having some issues with deslotting and I can hear and see his frustrations coming out, I totally understand these frustrations as I go through the same thing more often than not, for me it is lack of concentration... and in the beginning was a poor (cheap) controller.

I thank everyone for attending today and would like to send a huge Thank You to Paul for his assistance with the racing, computer, car tuning, knowledge and general help provided to all, thanks mate, it is appreciated.

Lindsay surprised me and joined us, sadly his wing car parts didn't arrive in time for his Melbourne racing.

May 4th 2022

We had six racers today with Lindsay making the trip up from Stockton for another week, unfortunately Stephen from Warners Bay couldn't make the racing, hopefully he can be here for next week where we make the return to Paul's track 'Undara Circuit' at Forster in nearly four months... wow.

Ian and Robyn arrived with their new TruSpeed PWM II controllers and I saw some immediate improvement with both Ian's and Robyn's car control.

Paul again provided four of his Ninco 1 cars for a race for those that don't yet have this class, thanks mate, it is appreciated.

After an hour or so of practice I got things moving with the first race of the day being the Ninco 1's, the cars stayed in the lanes while racers moved through the driver stations.

At the start of the racing day an hour is put in with practice mode and some car tuning, from there we kicked off the afternoon with the following class racing:
1. Ninco 1's,
2. 1:24 BRM Mini Cooper Race,
3. Revoslots

Ian again started having deslotting issues and his frustrations came through again, I totally understand these frustrations as I go through the same thing more often than not, for me it is lack of concentration... and in the beginning was a poor (cheap) controller.

There was some very close racing throughout the afternoon with lap records being thrown down by several people including Ray himself, congratulations Ray on your lap record mate, well deserved and congratulations everyone on your racing throughout the day.

I thank everyone for attending today and would like to send a huge Thank You to Paul for his assistance with the racing, computer, car tuning, knowledge and general help provided to all, thanks mate, it is appreciated.
