DS lap counter issues
#1

A club has been running their DS lap counters on a 13.8 volt, 3 amp PSU. It should have a transformer rating of 10-12 volt and 3 amps.

Could this over-voltage be causing problems with the internal components, as for the last three post-lockdown meetings they've been getting some weird lap times and lap counts?

Pendles distribute DS in the UK. They’d be worth sending a message to. I’m sure they know a lot about DS timing glitches - and whether the extra 1.8 volts might be an issue.

Hello T-D,
Try to measure the actual voltage. If they are using a "plug-pack" type, the actual voltage might be higher than the label voltage.
Won't help with any damage done but might help diagnose what went wrong.
