Or what do racers think about the Vanquish McLaren M8D?

Two thoughts,..........1/ The Vanquish cars will need considerable work/modifications to be competitive, and, 2/ Likely more importantly,..they are not 1/32 scale.

There was one for sale on SF for £35...didn't think you could get anything 1:24 for that price!

So I'm minded to go for the Policar 412P and continue developing my tuning (and driving) skills on a car that will not burden me with immediate expectations of success! I have some 25k motors, and more importantly, some trick Scaleauto AS25 tyres on their way from Spain...pod, bushings, hubs, interior, screws etc all to follow.

Hi Jeremy, just an FYI,.....the Vanquish cars were closer to 1/29th scale.........we ran a class for them at our local commercial track,...fun, but they did need considerable work. Their weird scale sizing and the use of a fairly finnicky differential, were their demise.

And just to keep it going for one more day...

Has anyone had any success racing an SRC Porsche 907k?

(a quick trawl of the www would suggest it is more of a 'home racer' than an out and out upgradable performance machine, so maybe not a good candidate!)

So which is it, post or prior as these two quotes cover everything from the beginning of time to today?

I think Jeremy answered it fully with his clarification.

Classic Le Mans / Classic Sports is a pretty common UK club racing class, so there must be lots of good experience out there to share with those getting started. Good luck with your plans Jeremy  Thumbup

How about something different:

Really good 3D chassis are available for a SlotIt pod.

Kevan

So you're the second person to mention this model...and you sound like you have raced one.

If built/tuned right, is it competitive?

No, never driven one.

Looking at it there's no reason it can't be a great race car with the right tyres/motor/gearing and chassis setup.

...or swap the chassis for a podded 3D jobbie and get SlotIt-like performance.
