It would make a nice lightweight historic touring car without those heavy windows...
I love puttering with gears

This will be like the old days when we used to remove the glazing from cars to make them handle better!

Fantastic work Andy, they really should offer you a job if they haven't already!
80's F1 set is fantastic, the retro vibe going much deeper than the packaging; mechanical lap counter, barriers not borders. Think I'm going to get one.
The Esprit and SD1 are really cool as well and what a great year for Micro!

Marc - Definitely a great year for Micro Scalextric. Proper cars were promised if/when the initial sets and cars proved themselves. The Bonds sets were nice, but a Porsche and Lamborghini are better - and a fully-licensed Formula-E range is sensational. RRP of £15.99 for the single cars is quite nostalgic for HO enthusiasts…
Back in 2019 we had plans at WHO to test and evaluate the new Micro cars on AFX track with a Justice League team race series. However cool that would have been, times have moved on and we’ll be evaluating the cars to run in our standard classes. Micro Formula-E vs AFX Formula-N might be the future…

Andy, we were discussing the future of open wheel in our group last year and entertaining all sorts of ideas including lexan etc. As you say, it looks like Scalextric and AFX have sorted that out for us.
For home use I'm wondering if the spark plug can be used with the current micro powerbase for even more Formula-E goodness?
Personally I'm happy the Supercars are models with racing heritage, I expect to be buying at least one of each.

Not in the UK catalogue, but scheduled for exclusive release in America are two new sets...
C1429T American Street Dual. This has a candy apple red Mustang BOSS 302 and a blue Camaro Z28 - both new colour-schemes on best-selling high-detail models. This is an analogue set with a crossover, sideswipe and jump - the 'medium' layout that was used for the police pursuit set. There are borders and barriers on one 180-degree corner. It is available for pre-order from the Scalextric USA website here, priced $199.99.
C1414T Speed Shifters. This is available now. The two Rasio C-20 supercars have been available in the UK, but not together in a set. The analogue set is the 'small' entry-level layout with a jump. The price on the Scalextric USA website here is $174.99.
There are no US-only cars - the individual car range is usually shared between the UK and US, with the Australian distributor announcing a handful of exclusive cars in February or March.
However, the Mustang from the US set is available to Scalextric Club members worldwide as a special run of 300 cars in Scalextric Club packaging...
The price is £49.99 (minus the 10% Club discount) and can be purchased here: https://uk.scalextric.com/products/ford-...cial-c4292

Scalextric have recently produced updated artwork for the 2022 sets - most of which are expected this summer. Here's a taster - starting with the 1980s sets...
There's more to see on the Scalextric website. As there is for the Police BMW vs Corvette set...
The two ARC sets - due in the autumn - have three set-exclusive GT3 cars, including both the ARC Air World GT cars...
And the RAM Racing AMG in the ARC Pro Platinum set...
I'll post more info when I have it.

Scalextric have added some newly released 3D rendered artwork of three much-anticipated classic Goodwood Revival racers...
C4338 Shelby Cobra 289 - COB289 - Bill Shepherd Racing. RRP £49.99. Scheduled Winter 2022-3.
Bill Shepherd’s metallic green Cobra COB289, which he drives with Romain Dumas, is one of the front-runners in the one-hour RAC TT Celebration race at the Goodwood Revival each year. This is a great video of some Cobra shenanigans from 2019...
C4339 Ford Mustang Alan Mann Racing - Henry Mann & Steve Soper. RRP £49.99. Scheduled Autumn 2022.
Mann developed the Mustang for European racing, testing two pre-production cars at Goodwood and then entering both the 1964 Tour de France and the Spa-Sofia-Liège. By the following year, the Alan Mann Racing Mustangs were fully race-ready and finished 1-2-3 at the Tour de France. These Mustangs raced successfully around Europe – and then reappeared as historic racers in 2005, restored by Mann and original AMR mechanic Brian Lewis. After Mann passed away in 2012, his sons Tom and Henry took up the AMR reigns and the Mustang modelled by Scalextric was driven by Steve Soper and Henry Mann in the 2017 Masters Historic Racing events.
C4353 Ford Mustang - Bill & Fred Shepherd. RRP £49.99. Scheduled Autumn 2022.
This is a model of Bill Shepherd's '65 Mustang, which has a great pedigree in historic events, shared with the likes of Jason Plato and Jochen Mass - and in 2020 with son Fred at Goodwood and Brands Hatch. This clip is from Revival in 2014 - a fabulous line-up celebrating 50 years of the Mustang...
And yes, the video does play!
