And those arches would cover my wheels perfectly Bigsmile

Not looking so nice at the minute after a barrel roll

Looking back at this post, it's clear that this is not the only time the car has been rolled, fixed and repainted.
The two paintjobs are different

Perhaps the slot car performance is a true reflection on the original then...

Arrow bonnet and side paintwork done
White edging and racing number detail will be done on white inkjet decal printing paper, cut to shape and slid into position.
It's coming along.
I just need to be patient between each paint/decal/laquer stage.
The final laquer is where things often go wrong.

The plan to use white waterside inkjet paper to create the pin striping and arrow edging on the car did not work.

The waterside tended to fold and crease when cut thinly enough to create the right effect.
The white waterside also allowed the dark base colours to show through

What do do?
Sharpie can melt and run in the laquer process.

White insulation tape was used, cut with a sharp blade , not scissors to get the straight edge.
The tape shines bright and resisted the laquer well.

The waterside racing numbers crinkled slightly under the laquer. Some do, some don't and I've never figured out why.
I should have lacquered the decals before water dipping.

Next, crystalwork and side sills.

Alan

PS
The shutline on the bonnet and lift-lights was done by running a pencil into the gaps prior to spray work.

Nearly finished and nearly ready for track testing at LSC (London) tonight.
Body stabilisation still to be worked.
I went for two body posts to match to the hrs2 body post screws.
Now I just have to figure how to control the body rock limits and skim the tyres
