SRC have begun the countdown for the development and release of their next Group B rally car - the Audi Sport Quattro S1 E2. This will be the third model after the OSC Peugeot 205 T16 and last year's Lancia Delta S4. The aim of the SRC team is to have the Quattro in production during 2022.
The S1 E2 fits in perfectly with the other two SRC Group B cars. The 1984 S1 was an attempt by Audi to catch up with the 205 T16 and Lancia 037, especially on tarmac. Although still essentially a modified Group 4 racer based on a production road car - unlike the other, purpose-built Group B cars - the Quattro S1 had a smaller engine (to qualify for a lower weight category), extensive weight-saving modifications and a shorter wheelbase. Initially, it wasn't popular with the Audi drivers or particularly competitive. The evolution E2 version with the distinctive aero body kit was lighter, featured more power (550 bhp) and had significantly improved power delivery with less turbo lag. Debuting in Argentina in the summer of 1985, Stig Blomqvist took the S1 E2 to runner-up spot at the 1000 Lakes in August, before Walter Röhrl and Christian Geistdörfer won at San Remo six weeks later...
SRC have also hinted at more liveries scheduled for their Peugeot 205 T16 (Evo 1 & 2) and there are three more liveries due this year for the Lancia S4. I am very excited SRC will be adding the Audi to their high-detail, high-performance Group B slot car range.
Keep an eye out on the
SRC 2.0 EVO Facebook page and I'll post any updates on the Quattro here.

Still waiting for the Audi as well, but I think it will not come before they find some investors, I got this Email:

Your investment will not only help us grow; you will receive exclusive benefits and rewards based on the tickets you purchase, including discounts on purchases, exclusive replicas, free registrations to championships and early access to new releases."
A ticket costs 2000 Euro, but I on't have that kind of money laying around to gamble with.
