I know that British sports cars are not very popular on this forum. But, I thought I would post this build anyways just in case at least one person likes these cars.  Thumbup

I like converting Airfix static kits into slot cars. They are often a bit narrow. But they look nice when completed.

I was not very happy with how the clear head light and tail light lenses came out. Or the chrome body molding. I need more practise and a steady hand. It keeps me humble.

Thank you very kindly for looking.

Not very popular? Haha.

Well it looks great to me, though some numbers might add to the overall look.

I agree with Jason and like them too.

As far as I know are the Airfix static kits correcty scaled down, which is the way it should be done by all slot car producers.
Most slot cars are too wide, but people have gotten used to it in the meantime.
I think Airfix did a great job.

Thank you very kindly, Jason and Rallyhub.

I agree the width of this car is accurate to the length.

The decals I bought for this car sucked, so I avoided posting them... Oh well. Here goes a little more embarrassment.

It's actually a 1969 Targa Florio livery. Drivers were Richard Dawkins, and Rod Eade.

Might be some truth in that, but everybody on the planet loves an MGB (surely?)

Mine is below,

Looks great Ken, what wheels and tires did you use?  How is it on the track?

Nice looking car Leo.  Thumbup

Thank you kindly, Bob.

The wheels are from Colin Sparks of RS Slot Racing in the UK.

Tires are urethane from DArt Hobbies in Canada.

If I were to build the car again. I would use slightly smaller wheels. Leo has the right size wheels on his car.

It handled like a poopy roller blade and flew off the track like crazy at 62-grams. Its handles like a dream now at 75-grams. There's no substitute for putting 13-grams of lead 1mm off the track surface. What a difference.

Hi Bob. Glad to help.

The aluminum wheels are RS Slot Racing part# RSW001.

Tires are called "D7" club tires.

I put these on a lot of sports cars.

The plastic wheel inserts are sold separately, and are available from either supplier.
