Then why are other race series free-to-air and live and F1 is not?

I'm sure some series are not free.
But I am not sure what your point is./

Formula 1 has been the pinnacle of motor sports excellence for many years now. It has also been the most popular series in the world for just as long.
There are many other racing formats that provide more overtaking, and more crash and bash, but then so does my local autograss meeting.
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with any of the motor sports that have been mentioned, but please don't pretend that they can compete with F1 for significance, history, technical excellence, or popularity. If they did, they'd surely be worth a thread of their own.

I would agree that F1 is the most popular globally. I have no interest in any other single-seater racing activity. I have givrn up watching F1 live and keep tuned in via the on-line sources (Sky F1, Motorsport Week, Mercedes Youtube channel).
I am more Rally oriented and have to say that the WRC "All Live" coverage is awesome.

I have watched F1 from black and white days ,when it was twix horse racing 2 30 at Doncaster , been to a few races .What gets me is today the whole field is separated by maybe 1 second .The team is run by people who are not actually at the track ,the drivers are advised by people not in the car ,so where is the innovation , never will we see a 6 wheeled car ,4 wheeled drive car ,fan car ,skirted car .If they weren't painted different colours we would not know one from another .

I will take a field spread of 1-2 seconds over some of the dross that ran back when we could tell the cars apart.

I dunno.. the LMP1 Porsche has proven with a little bit of loosening of the rules they can be faster than F1....
One could of course argue if F1 were unleashed they would be faster...

One could say that, and one would be right.
I don't see a connection between that and field spread though/
