Thinking about this a bit more, that last message was wrong on so many levels. Who gives their opponents a 10g weight advantage!?
So, here is the money shot...
And here is what I will be continuing with...a V12!
This should bring me right back down to just a couple of grams over the minimum weight requirement, and has to be a more beneficial starting point for the race tuning programme.

I couldn't do it! I've been through the science and believe the Flat-6 offers some advantages.
So back to Plan A...

Stop doubting, build them both and see how it goes.
Specially for DiSCA WEC half the fun is in building and testing the cars to see (for your self) what works for.....you
with kind regards

So here's a thing...
I have got an itch to race a Bentley Continental with an online motor. So that rules out GT3, but there is still WEC. However, I don't think the Bentley qualifies for this series as it hadn't run at Le Mans in recent years. Is that what needs to happen for a car to race in the DiSCA WEC series?

Dear Jeremy
I'm afraid a lot has to happen before we could race DiSCA WEC..at all. I tink we all got some itch by now ;)
As for running the Bentley inline, sure its allowed, but aks yourself..what would be the benefit?
Sure Teams have raced inline configs in the DiSCA WEC (last one was Flevoslot @ Igualada running their Ford GT LM) but were not that happy with it.
Running the motor inline reduces the width of the motor magnets over the Slot.
With kind regards
Tamar

Ok...firstly, thanks for clarifying the Bentley can race WEC. Re-reading the WEC regulations, I can now see it meets the "road going sports cars (period 2015-2019) specifically modified for endurance racing" criteria.
And maybe I have too much time to ponder ideas, but 1:1 supercars are mainly mid-engined, so I thought why not take the nice long Bentley platform and place the engine right in the middle to create a solid, stable, well balanced, race car.
And then a part of me just wants to try something different rather than follow the herd (when the herds re-appear!)

Just re-read your report on the Igualada race again with reference to motor orientation. Interesting to compare inline Flevoslot with your favoured SW, both with the same car.
(and now I am missing slot racing even more!)

Have got the Bentley to the next stage of preparation...
So Slot.it 3DP chassis, pod, motor, wheels, tyres, inserts etc and got round at the weekend to painting the clear (!) lexan interior and swapping over the roll cage and fuel feed pipe and installing those in the shell.
Happy with the low, wide stance.
Next up is the wiring and setting up of the guide.
