Your track looks totally amazing David!
Happy 12th birthday? The 30th or 40th time now?

Wiring has begun!
I’m reusing the Slot Car Corner kit - that makes it very easy.
Driver’s stations are installed now too.
As I mentioned, the driver’s stations are on opposite sides and ends of the track. Both for marshaling with only a few racers and it gives a totally different perspective from each station.
I’ll keep on this week with the hope to tape by next week.

Nice
So I come from the recent world of even number laned plastic track...2, 4, 6 etc...
I am beginning to notice a number of 3 laned wooden tracks on here. Is there a history to this configuration?
I love puttering with gears

For me, it was just the best compromise between space and enough racers to make it enjoyable. Great for running alone or when visitors descend.

Thanks Gordon! I uploaded from my phone and it tends to do that. Wanted to fix them later and forgot! Awesome assist!

For me, I usually am alone, or have only 1-2 racers with me. Additionally, the roadbed can be much narrower when losing the extra lane. I'm a scenery geek, so I'd rather sacrifice that lane I'm not using for that. I've had a 3-laned track now for so long, it seems natural and 4-lane tracks feel huge!

Wiring and taping are functional. I've got some wire-ties to still do and lots of other cleanup, but the PDR actually had little cars puttering around for a little bit last night. The track is dirty as well, but all systems are GO!
