I think the car may have been a touring car rather than a rallycross car, though I guess it could have done both at different stages.

Whoops! My error, the care home beckons! I was confusing it with his MK11 Escort which is a Rallycross car.

A small update on this:
Although there were 1500 of these made a large proportion were sent to a sponsor in Europe for use as giveaways and the UK supply is therefore more limited. As usual some of them have found their way to dealers who are offering them at inflated prices but I spoke to Andy the other day and he still had limited stock available at the normal price if you want one.

The team's Ford Anglia has also been commissioned by the team as a promotional item. It is a limited edition like the Escort and not on general sale.
   

Unfortunately they have got somewhat greedy with the pricing. The Escort was £58 inc postage but this one is £100 plus postage! Not for me at that price but, should you want one it can be ordered by email from: Andy@mrcmodular.com

Either Hornby have tooled specifically for that model, or they plan on doing some more bubble-arch Anglias.

Team Slot have also done a limited edition for him - his MK2 Escort. No info on price but I imagine it isn't cheap.
