Cupcake Raceway Nov 20, 2025
#1

Another round of racing was held at Cupcake Raceway. Six friends came together for a dinner feast, and a few laps around a beautiful track.

Up first were the scratch built Arii Datsun 240Z kits. Anything goes. The only rule, we all need to use the Pendle's 16k slimline motor. This was a bracket race.

The Scalex Mini class came next. Stock chassis. Aluminum wheels, and a 14k motor. Stock crown gear. These are nice to race when they don't go so darn fast.

CanAm are always a fun class. Any brand of car. Stock chassis/body. 22k motor max.

Front motor Watson Indy cars were a nice relaxing way to end the evening. Scratch built cars with Pendle's 16k motor and a drive shaft. This was also a bracket race. It keeps the races a bit slower so everyone has less off's. Saves paint.  Thumbup

Thank you very kindly for looking.

One of the hosts keeps track of race points for the 240Z and Watson Indy classes.

We have an agreement that names are not allowed to be used. That's why all I can post is pics of cars. This isn't about who wins or loses. It's about having fun.

However, here's a taste of the inside notes we saw from this last race by the man in charge of statistics. All the names were changed. Enjoy.  Bigsmile

Watson Indy:
Race night on November 20th brought more drama, faster laps, and more questionable driving decisions than a Black Friday parking lot.

Gable once again decided the top step of the podium was his personal property, throwing down 75 laps and daring anyone to try and take it from him. Spoiler: they didn’t.
Kramer, freshly recovered from the tragic “No Driver / No Car / No Hope” disqualification two weeks prior, shocked everyone by finishing second. Rumor has it his car finally received a driver, a windshield, and possibly even dignity.
Mannfred rolled in with style, scoring third AND the fastest lap of the night. His response to earning the bonus point?
Quote:“Well, someone had to be fast.”
Cronkite, now actually placing instead of being disqualified, took a proud fourth, proving that showing up with a complete car dramatically improves results.
Bob kept it smooth with 71 laps, while Jay wrapped up the field with 68 laps and the most consistent (and colorful) commentary of the night.

If you missed Indy Night on November 20, here’s the recap:

Gable arrived in full “I’m winning this” mode and absolutely crushed the field with 78 laps. His car ran so well that several racers suggested he must have found a way to eliminate friction entirely.

Cronkite, determined to erase all memory of being behind Jay in Race 1, put on a fantastic charge and finished second. Even more impressively, his car completed the event with a driver, which is a new personal record.

Mannfred also scored 77 laps and tied Jay for the fastest lap. Unfortunately for Mannfred, the marshals decided to break the tie by comparing their second fastest laps in other lanes. This is where Mannfred said:

Quote:“Nooooope, I’m out.”
Jay’s 7.666 in green lane beat Mannfred’s 7.678 in blue, and Jay pocketed the bonus point with a grin big enough to see from the pit lane.

Bob was right in the mix with 77 laps as well, while Kramer rolled out with a tired BWA motor that wheezed like an asthmatic vacuum cleaner, but still delivered 74 laps and 2 points.

And then we have Jay, who ended the night muttering at the timing system after racking up multiple breakouts that nuked his lap total. He still scored 2 points, though, thanks to his fast lap detective work.

As for Andy, he took a DNS… or as we like to call it:

Quote:“Did Not Arrive — but we assume he’s fine.”
Another night of chaos, comedy, and competition — in exactly the proportions we expect.
