It was great to have all eight members in attendance last night. Nothing like maximizing the mayhem.
After enjoying our usual slot car delicacy, pizza. The racing got started.
It was good to race an older class that's been collecting dust as of late. Up first were the scratch built 1.5L 60's GP class. They use 14k slim line slow motors, aluminum wheels, urethane tires, any gears, etc.
It was very respectful even though it was open wheel racing. Slow motors meant very little fishtailing. It was easy to stay in your lane.
Pre-war cars are a regular class for us. It's a points system to the end of the year. The winner wins... bragging rights. It's a bracket class. Go under 8-seconds and that lap is disqualified. Keeps it very interesting. Especially if/when the leader breaks out. Almost impossible to make up a lap without breaking out again.
RevoSlot GT class were up next. Box stock cars with urethane tires. Also on a points system. These cars are super fun to race.
The last class to race were the Modern F1 cars (unlimited). NSR and Scaleauto were a popular choice. These are wide and fast. Hard not to fishtail. We had a few cars fly at least 10-inches or so high above the track surface last night. These are nasty when the tires rub between cars. Especially at high speeds. Luckily, no damage last night.
We will be racing again in a few weeks. Thank you very kindly for looking.
