What once was lost has been found, or at least bought on eBay. Yes, the great quest (see Episode 45) to find the Green Morgan has been completed. Or has it.

We hear how things went at Round 2 of Slot Rally GB and decide things will be better if all the entrants have stage names and walk on music like in darts or wrestling. Success on the stages seems to require either an SRC or Scaleauto and to be called something beginning with G.

We also have the first of Slot Stories With Nick, cosy pod-side chats with Nick telling the story behind one of his slot,it Porsche 956/962 collection. Just 59 more to go.

I just want to give everyone who runs this place a huge thank you! So well kept and  maintained. I wish I could find the place where you post your news in a forum form so that I can like it and hear what others have to say about it. Thank you again!

Somewhat late to the table I thought I would give Ninco lane changer mechanics some investigation.

So I acquired some Ninco XLCs and some Ninco pit lanes.

As we know there are several lane changer mechanics in market:

1/ Scalextrix push-pull dual solenoid.
2/ Carrera single solenoid with blade actuated mechanical auto return.
3/ SCX which is purely mechanical.
4/ Ninco which is single solenoid and spring loaded return.

Then there are currently announced plans from Policar/Slot.it and ScaleAuto - both of course exciting.

So with Ninco lane changers in use by a number of enthusiast communities I thought I would take a closer look.

I plan to explore two questions:

1/ Could lane changer electronics use two solenoid current options - an initial high current to enable fast actuation - then a reduced current for solenoid ‘hold’ to maintain position against the spring tension?

2/ Could lane changer electronics use a second sensor (post-lane change mechanism) which then releases the solenoid? This would prevent early release for slower moving cars.

I plan to explore both of above.

Any thoughts from like-minded enthusiasts?

I've never been a book reader but having recently finished 'The Limit' by Michael Cannell that I received at Christmas...for the first time in my life I'm missing having a good book to read.

What are your recommendations?

Can someone tell me, please, the diameter of the wheel inserts in the Avant Slot Opel Manta?  Pendles don't give it on the page.  I have a project I could use those particular inserts for, if they're the right size.

Thanks in advance,
Stuart.

I am in need of a Wrenn Formula 152 DC working motor.
I am not expecting to get it for nothing but I will pay a fair price.
Also any Wrenn spares considered.
Thanks Clive
