The wait for the first SRC LMP1 car is almost over. The first Chrono kit will be shipped from SRC HQ on Friday 4 June and Pendle Slot Racing expect to have it the following week. The contents of the Toyota LMP1 Chrono kit are:

• 1 x T1-D chassis (hard) + 1 x Bolt T1 chassis support + 2 x 1.6x4mm screw (RM1014) + 2.5x6mm Allen hexagonal screw(RM1022)
  
• 1 x front axle diameter 2mm (RM0213) + 4 x front axle adjustment screw 2.5 × 2.5mm
  
• 2 x 15.85mm ABS front rim (RM0620) exclusive for 2mm axle + 2 x Grip-0 low profile tire (RN0201)
  
• 1 x T5 guide (RM0713) + 2 x braid (RM0706) + 1 x 1.8x6mm screw (RM1002) + 1 x 560/316 spacer (RM1405)
  
• 2 x Supremex SRC4 screw (RM1023) chassis and body joint + 1 x chassis rear photoetch
  
• 1 x AW T1 motor mount + Bolt T1 motor mount support + 3 x 1,6x4mm H.screw (RM1014) + Bolt T1 steel + Bolt T1 nylon
  
• 1 x 2.38mm hollow rear axle. Length 59.50mm (RM0214)
  
• 2 x bearing (RM0524) + 1 x stopper (RM0523) + 2 x 2x2mm H.screw (RM1008) + 1 x spacer length 1.8 and diameter 4mm (RM0507)
  
• 1 x 28z AW gear / crown (RM0410) + 1 x 2x2mm stud (RM1008) + 1 x 12z AW pinion (RM0305)

Pendles have included a pdf of the instructions on the product listing.

With SRC ending relationships with national distributors, they have experienced a few problems. Pendles will be the official SRC retailer in the UK and will be listing future products for pre-order. The Costa Brava 1986 Lancia Delta S4 will arrive at the same time as the Toyota kit and can also be pre-ordered. There's a full range of spares, plus some new old stock SRC cars worth browsing - when they're gone, they're gone.

The latest addition to RevoSlot's fabulous 1990s GT series was only a matter of 'when' - not 'if'.  For me, the Mercedes CLK GTR and the CLK LM are perfect examples of the period - big, loud, low and mean, with a front end that has a few familiar features. In 1997 and 1998, GT1 was effectively a prototype class. One CLK GTR homologation road car was built in 1997 and the other 24 followed in 1999 - after the GT1 category was scrapped. It was a glorious two years for Mercedes...

       

The first two RevoSlot CLKs are the works cars that dominated the 1997 FIA GT season, winning six of the eleven races and saw Bernd Schneider crowned champion. The CLK had been gone from initial drawings to full prototype in just 128 days - a quick response to the DTM/ITC series folding and Mercedes desperate to compete in a top-flight motorsport category in 1997.

   

Teething problems meant it was the fourth race until the CLK really began to shine - Schneider and Klaus Ludwig winning at the Nürburgring. Five more wins gave Mercedes a thumping victory in the team championship. In 1998, the CLK GTR and LM gave Mercedes a clean sweep - ten wins in ten races and six 1-2s - with Ludwig and Ricardo Zonta sharing the drivers' title. Despite no Le Mans win to give it utter legendary status, the CLK is a very important racing car...




RevoSlot have taken the original pair of 1997 CLK GTRs - a third was added for six races - and made them available individually and as a twin pack...

       

These cars carried the same race numbers throughout the 1999 FIA GT season, Bernd Schneider the lead driver in the #11 DS2 car and Alessandro Nannini in the #10. Their team mates included Klaus Ludwig, Alex Wurz, Marcel Tiemann and Aguri Suzuki. It was the #11 that won at the Nürburgring, Donington, Sebring and Laguna Seca. The #10 won at Suzuka and the #12 at the A1-Ring.

       

Underneath is the usual RevoSlot anodised aluminium two-part chassis and BRM components.

I wanted to take a moment and post here to hopefully generate interest for the upcoming (November) 2022 GT3 Proxy by posting the final Round 10 of the 2021 Series which will be occurring at the MID-BC Slot Car Speedway in Kelowna, British Columbia in the next couple of weeks.  The GT3 Slot Car Proxy is affiliated with the Championship Proxy Events series in which F1Fan has created and is the director.   The World Championship Slot Car Proxy Series is also affiliated with the Championship Proxy Events series..

Qualifying will be ran this week by Friday. I will post the video link the day of the event and most likely it will be around 5:15PM Pacific time.

This round will be run different than all the previous rounds or any proxy I have ever hosted, I will be running a "self run" proxy.....meaning I will run all the cars myself. Due to the existing Covid restriction "Keep indoor gatherings to people within your immediate household" as MID-BC is in my home and my wife is a Registered Nurse our household needs to follow this restriction while it is in place. Restrictions come up for renewal on May 24th so I'm not sure if there will be any changes but the guys are itching to race!  Ideally a proxy is ran with various drivers driving the cars but this year is what it is!

The grid in order of the current standings. Some battles going on for positioning...will be interesting to see when the dust settles who ends up where.

Maybe it's a poor translation, but I read this SRC press release as saying that SRC have fixed the price of their cars, and anyone selling them for less than that is not playing the game...
