A week in slot cars…

New cars from Carrera, NSR and Scalextric, an update from Octane, wheels from Staffs and a kit from MMK are supplemented by highlights from the SlotRacer Calendar and the best of slot car videos and photography.

Slot Cars

  • New from Carrera Just arrived in the UK are these two stunning new liveries in the 1/32 Carrera Evolution range. The Gulf Racing Porsche 911 GTE raced at the 2018 Silverstone ELMS round. The Jägermeister-liveried BMW M1 is not from the Procar series, but the car Kurt König drove at the final race of the 1982 Deutsche Rennsport Trophäe at the Nürburgring. These are available from Pendles and all the usual Carrera stockists.
  • Scalextric Jaguar MkII – Inspector Morse Just arrived from Scalextric is this sumptuous recreation of Morse’s Jag from the classic ITV series. The finish of the car is a whole lot more satisfying than the previous racing release, but whether the driver is enough of a likeness to John Thaw will be debated long into the night.
  • NSR Abarth 500 John Player Special NSR are back from their summer holidays and have just announced a classy JPS livery on their little Abarth 500 Assetto Corse model. There are two versions with 01 and 02 numbers.
  • Jim Clark Single Boxed Cars Pendle Slot Racing have the three cars from the Legend of Jim Clark set available as individual boxed models. There’s the 1963 World Championship Lotus 25 as seen at the Belgian GP; the 1967 Lotus 49 Clark put on pole at the Nürburgring; and the Lotus Cortina from the 1964 International Trophy meeting at Brands Hatch.
  • Octane Peugeot 504 Safari Test Shots Hobbyclassic were delighted to share these images of the first test shots of the upcoming Octane Peugeot 504 Safari. The production models should be available soon.
  • Staffs Gold 6 Spoke Wheels Available now are new 6-spoke wheels from Staffs Slot Cars UK. A nice addition to their popular range of alloy wheels, this new design comes in eight colours and as 15.8 x 8.5mm standard hubs and 15.8 x 10mm air rims.
  • MMK Alfa Romeo 500 Transporter Kit An exciting new release is this 1/32 scale kit of the truck that carried Tazio Nuvolari’s Alfa 12C-36 to New York to win the 1936 Vanderbilt Cup.
