KTrack Relay Wiring

Lap Timer 2000 can optionally turn track power on and off when the TrakMate printer interface is used and a small power relay is installed to control the power supplied to your slot car track.

KThe IBM PC compatible printer interface provides a low voltage signal current on most output pins. For best results first measure the voltage available between pins 2 and 25. You should see a supply voltage between 5 and 12 VDC. If your printer port delivers less than 12 VDC use Radio Shack part no. 275-240, if you measured a full 12 VDC then use part no. 275-241.

KThe wiring diagram below illustrates the necessary wiring required to use a track power relay.

KYou may also purchaseCable Order Form a complete solid state track power relay. Two models are available; a Single Power Relay unit for tracks with a single power supply driving all of the lanes, or a Quad Power Relay for tracks with individually powered lanes. You must be using the TrakMate printer interface wiring for your sensors to make use of a track power relay.
