KLap Timer File Settings

Select the File | Options menuFile Menu item to open the Lap Timer Options property sheet and then click on the Files tab to display Lap Timer File Settings. This window will allow you to specify the way Lap Timer handles the various document files you open and edit.





A description of the various settings follows.


KPrompt for Export File Names

Check this box to display the standard MS Windows Save File window. You will be prompted to specify the file name of the export file you are creating. If this setting is not checked the export file will be created in the same folder as the original document and will have the same basic file name, but with a file extension type of .CSV.


KGenerate Full Grid Race Log Files

Check this box to generate Full Grid race log files suitable for submission to the Online Racing Series (ORS).


KFolder

Enter the folder name of the directory to be used to store Lap Timer 2000 race result files. Press the Browse button to the right of this entry field to use the standard MS Windows Folder Browser for automatic folder selection. The folder you specify will be used to store all of the various Lap Timer 2000 reports and database filesLap Timer 2000 File Formats used throughout the program.


KDirectory

Use this entry field to specify a backup folder location other than the document default. If this item is not filled backup copies of Lap Timer documents will be created in the same folder as the original file. To automatically select a backup folder location using the MS Windows Folder Browser press the Browse button to the right of this entry field.


KMake Backup Copies

Check this box to automatically make a backup copy of race result files that have been generated. Backup files will have the same file name with the prefix Backup of  added.


KOK

Press this button when you have completed your selection of Lap Timer program options. When you press this button the Lap Timer Options property sheet will be closed and your settings will be saved.


KCancel

Press this button to close the Lap Timer Options property sheet without making any changes. If you have made any changes to the file settings and then press this button your changes will not be used, and your previous settings will remain in use.


KHelp

Press this button to open the Lap Timer Help Window and go directly to the Lap Timer File Settings topic.


KNote The options you have selected will be saved when you press the OK button. The desktop location of the Lap Timer Options window itself will also be stored. Your settings will be saved in the MS Windows System RegistrySystem Registry.
