Ginger Baker

Sad to hear that Ginger Baker has passed away.

I imagine there are a few of us who are old enough to remember what an influential and brilliant drummer he was.

Not only old enough to remember him but I went to see Cream on two occasions. The first time was at Spalding in 1967 when they were not that well known. LINK
Cream, Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Move, Zoot Money and the mighty Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band on the same bill for the princely sum of £1!
I also saw him in the first appearance of Blind Faith at Hyde Park in 1969 and that was a free concert. Happy Days!

R.I.P. Ginger and thanks for the memories. Time to dig out some vinyl and listen to 'Toad' one more time I think.

Only last night I was watching a Youtube video featuring Ginger Baker. Im a bass player and huge Cream fan. So hence the interest.

Sad to see him go.

CMOTD you are one hell of a lucky man. Im lucky enough to have seen Clapton in Sydney in the 80s
