Deja Vu
#1

Having already posted about my experience this year in regard to a very late retuned proxy cars from the US, it was a little amusing to have another late arrival from USPS this week.

This time it was an order placed on the 23rd December 2024 with Slot Car Corner for some Paul Guage tyres

They just arrived !!!

Either someone there has a very good memory, or else they found your package at the back of a drawer gathering dust!

I love puttering with gears

That is so funny! It works other way 'round, too! I had gifted an airplane kit to a fella in merry ol' England. He never received the kit or cowl boxes. After a year the kit box was returned. I suppose the cowling box is still in transit, lol!

Many years ago I had a cracker. Sent a slot car recorded delivery which never arrived at its destination so put in a compensation claim for the cost of the car and a refund on the postage. A week or so later a note came through the door advising a returned parcel was being held at my local post office with a £6 fee to be paid due to no postage stamp.

Went to investigate and found my errant slot car parcel. I pointed out to them that it had been sent recorded delivery from the same post office and produced the receipt so a missing stamp was impossible. After much consultation with the powers that be it was decided that the only course of action was to pay the fee. They would resend the package and refund the fee by a cheque in the post.

This was duly done, parcel arrived with the original recipient and I did indeed get a refund few days later so case closed I thought.

About a month later I received a further letter which stated that they had no idea what had happened to the original delivery so they were paying the compensation claim in full and a cheque was enclosed! Somehow it slipped my mind  to enlighten them about what had really happened.  Rofl  Thumbup

I should have said that Slot Car Corner did replace my “lost” order, and I now have some more tyres for free, so I guess I should own up now…….

Similar thing but not slot related, our coffee maker decided to stop working one week before the 2 year warranty expired, we contacted Amazon to be told to contact De Longhi direct which we did. Weeks passed with no response, contacted Amazon again.... another couple of weeks and we get 2 emails on the same day, first one from Amazon informing us that they had refunded the original purchase price, second one from De Longhi telling us that a replacement would be arriving next day.
So we had 2 years use then refunded & replaced on the same day. RESULT.

I did have a slot related  one from Scalextric, it was sent tracked so I followed it and got a little worried when it was checked at Heathrow, even more concerned when it arrived in Uraguay, it stayed there for a couple of days then got sent back to Heathrow, then back to Margate.
Credit where due, Scalextric  sent me a replacement and a mug to compensate for my inconvenience, I'd actually quite enjoyed following the travels of my car.
