Info Red Telephone Booth
#1

Hello,
Whilst searching for material to make a pathway, I stumbled over a model of the much-loved Post Office red telephone booth. I am currently building a track layout based loosely upon the fictional village of Tannochbrae and when I saw the red booth I had to get a couple. Lemax do a lot of snow-scape figures and buildings and I have bought a few things before so know that they are approximately 1:32 scale.
Telephone Booth dimensions are 7.7 x 3.1 x 3.2 cm. They are really nice white-metal castings with a glazing and an opening door. Inside there is a representation of a pay-phone but both of mine are strangely squint.

My photographs feature feature a Carrera figure and a Scalextric figure.
From a bit of research I reckon that the booth type is a K6 with artistic licence reducing the rows of glass to 7 (from 8).

I have no connection to the suppliers, for info a link is below.  £3.82 + P/P  in their Black Friday sale.

When Team-Slot produced their Delta HF 4WD model I used Lemax skiers to mimic a Lancia advert:

Nice. All you need now is a Clark Kent, or Superman figure.  Thumbup

Superman has been resident on my track for some time:

The phone box is a novelty pencil sharpener but yours looks nearer to scale and more realistic Leo so I may have to buy one of those.

Either that bloke is 7 foot tall or the telephone box is a different (smaller) scale

He is 58mmx32=1.86m, about 6.1 feet tall. That's not small.

On one of my trips to the UK Slot Car Festival I found these two pencil sharpeners for 2.99GBP each in a souvenir shop.
The back of the box is labeled East & West Gifts and Souvenirs. It was designed in the United Kingdom.
Maybe they are still available in such kind of shop.

Hello Kevan,

I think the early Scalextric figures are 1:30 scale, like their early cars.

I got the undernoted at a Toy Fair a few years ago. A bit on the small side but OK as background.

Is there such a thing as a scale person, we're all different and not made to construction rules.  You can have two people stood side-by-side, one 50% the size of the other but both full-sized.

How true:

That's me on the left and Ronnie (my better half) on the right! The only reason she used to beat me in her Lotus 7 was she weighed half as much as me of course.
