Riverhampton Jan 9, 2025
#1

It was the first race of the year. 7-friends came together to relax, chill, and have a little fun. Chicken souvlaki and fries were on the menu care of the host. Thank you very kindly Jim!

One of the club members was out due to recent surgery. We're all supporting his quick recovery.

Everyone was having a rough start. We had a record breaking 5-incorrect hook-ups with our controllers throughout the evening. We always have a hot start. You need to wait for the light to turn green before you hit the trigger and cross the start, or you red-light and lose that lap. When a car starts going down the track by itself on the countdown before the green light. It quickly becomes a bad day. One brake pot make have gone up in smoke in the process.

Pre-war is a regular class for us that will be raced every two weeks or so. There's a points system in place. The winner at the end of the season wins absolutely nothing... nada. Not even a coffee. Bragging rights maybe?

Here are the old cars.

We have four series of scratch built GP cars.

1) 50's GP (14k slimline 050)
2) 60's 1.5L (14k slimline 050)
3) 60's 3.0L (18k Scalex slimline 050)
4) 70's GP up to 1974 (18k Scalex slimline 050)

We raced the 60's 1.5L GP - decided by way of a club vote.

Stock Scalex NASCAR was next. The only upgrade allowed is urethane tires.

The last class to race was Slot.It DTM. Is that a Merc 190 taxi in the mix? I feel badly for the customers sitting in the back seat. Don't worry. I'm not offending anyone. The one and only tall taxi is mine.  Bigsmile

That's it until the end of the month.

Thank you very kindly for looking,
Ken
