WHO Slot Rally 2025
#1

We're back with more events in 2025, including a round of the Slot Rally GB Championship...

  • WHO Winter Stages: Wednesday 22 January
  • WHO Spring Stages: Wednesday 30 April
  • Slot Rally GB Worthing: Saturday 19 July
  • WHO Summer Stages: Wednesday 23 July
  • WHO Autumn Stages: Wednesday 22 October
We'll keep and tweak the five stages used in 2024 - Friston Forest, Ilex/Sea Lane, Jupps Farm, Titnore Lane and the Ford Ice Rink. We aim to add more stages, with Mike and Phil making plans for Scalextric Sport and Ninco stages and Scott murmuring about bringing some Carrera. There's also a routed version of a  local airfield stage on the drawing board.

We will adhere to the Slot Rally GB regulations, although staying with just the three main classes and we continue to celebrate the top box-stock Scalextric and SCX runners, of which we have quite a few. Club cars and controllers will be available on all the stages.

A pdf brochure including the dates, regs, classes and some top tips can be downloaded here

We're working on two brand new stages for next month's Spring Stages and a re-configuration of Jupp's Farm.

Phil and Mike D offered to design and provide a stage each and we're looking forward to those.

Jeremy and me tested this truncated version of Jupp's Farm at the weekend...

It is easier to marshal and uses only half the number of tables as the full circuit track.

In reserve is 'The Boulevard' - a Scalextric Sport track that isn't far off The Boulevard in Goring...

The aim is to use 6-foot bridges on the straights to get an elevation change and a nice crest to unsettle the cars. Those straights can be lengthened, if we have space and spare tables.

An inspection of the tracks round Friston Forest now that the first signs of Spring warmth are in the air show that this layout will form the basis of the rally stage...

Still a risk of slippery conditions in some of the shady hollows.

I love puttering with gears
