I assume this is the future - but to be honest, I am too entrenched in the staus quo and 'standard' type racing. I have watched a few videos of 'open' type racing from the nordics and Chechia - and it just does not do it for me....

The problem is these are sensorless motors which means horrible cogging at low revs. The same happened in RC cars, the early motors were rubbish until sensored motors were available at much higher prices but a joy to use.
Sensored drone motors won't happen any time soon as they have no purpose in a drone and I'm not sure you'd get a sensored setup into such a small motor.
