Buys you regret ...
#1

TappingfootYup - I am sure we have all done it and for different reasons.

My latest - sadly there have been several in my history - are these 2 cars.

Now before you say could you have not seen it in the auction - yes I did seee the boken tyres, but tyres are not an issue for me.
What I did not see was - size difference, really REALLY poor mechanicals broken mechanicals on the 250......

WHy did I buy them - the bodies looked quite good and I guess they are - it is the only Love bonnet version of the 250 that I know of in plastic.
At best though they are 1/35th, and mechanicals I can and will rreplce and work on. but still I think to myself - what an idiot!!

No they were not expensive and TBH was one of the reasons I bought them - but horror of horrors - they are for sale as well on ebay.it for 110 euros - REALLY?????

Only one. I've only bought a few RTR cars and the ProSlot Alfas, Toyota and the SlotiT Ferrari are all fine and good for guests to use.

Biggest disappointment? Thunderslot McLaren.

I regret paying so much for a car that has never been any good. I hate the wheels and tyres - which keep parting company no matter how many times I try and glue them on. I've tried the grey sticky ones but they are just as bad. The guide is wierd and has been replaced with a SlotiT wooden track job. The motor is OK but is now in the ProSlot Toyota which suits it better. It's quite nippy on the few occasions I run it but then a tyre will fall off. Not as fast as the Alfas though and I get three of those for the price I paid for the McLaren.

I made the mistake of using it at Bordo instead of the SlotiT Ferrari which I had practiced with and promptly went from around the quickest to about sixth or seventh fastest.
Everyone said it was the better car. Strange as I never usually listen to anybody Tease

The car sits in the 'probably never get used again' box. A waste of money.

Whilst on the subject of proslot, I bought a mint, unopened ferrari f1 off a clubmate, took it out of the box, got a screwdriver out to remove the rear wing screw, twisted the screwdriver and the rear of the chassis sheared off...it all went back in the box never to breathe fresh air again.

A Fly 917L, but "tuned" with a ton of magnets and BMW wheels.  I ripped off the magnets but it's hardly moving. Can't complain as it was cheap, for a good cause and was one of about a dozen I bought at the same time which included perfectly good Fly and Sideways classics.  I think I just let myself get carried away and didn't really pause to think why the wheels were wrong.

Option is to move it on or seek a new chassis, motor and axles.

Hard to regret spending less than £20 on two relatively pristine cars, but the tyres are so hard they barely move and I can't find replacements.
