We may as well have a thread for it as we like talking about it and I'd rather do that here than other forums.
Great race, bodes well for the season.
With Verstroppen up to his old tricks it's obvious him and Leclerc are going to tangle a few times this year and I don't think Charles is as risk averse as Lewis was last year.
Merc already unofficially thrown the towel in this year...
Predictions for next week?
Leclerc
Verstroppen
Sainz

I think Merc will get themselves sorted within a couple of races, hopefully to be just competitive with Ferrari/RB but no better.
I would like to see a couple of the other teams also able to be fighting for podium places, but it does look like the new cars have shook it up for the better so far.
Common sense appears to have prevailed with some of the new rules, white line limits around the entire track for one, so heres hoping for a good 2022 season.
Have to say Zhou and Yuki had good showings, nice to see the youngsters giving some clean racing and solid results for their teams.

Can teams spend their way out of design problems, or are MB now stuck with a car that will be porpoising all season?

There's no 'spending your way out' of this one, tippy toe through the problem(s) from now on.
Just though about my prediction, maybe Charles & Max will take each other out and Carlos FTW...who knows, maybe even a HAAS on the podium

If you want a proper discussion here about f1 you could stop your childish behavior and spell Verstappens name right. Frustrations that Max won last year are still very strong, aren‘t they Kevin?

I'd fully expect Mercedes to sort out their problems, but whether they manage to do it in time to challenge for the championship is another question.

I recently found a loooooooooooong thread on a BBC blog started by Andrew Benson, dated 2010, where discussions include the plank, turbos, small capacity engines, large capacity engines, V6/8/10/12, big wings, small wings, KERS, special fuels, overtaking problems etc. and it seems we've gone round full circle.
They're even talking about carbon footprints 12 years ago and I wonder just how far we've really come in any of it.

MB may have dropped the ball as far as their design is concerned but at least the strategy crew are consistent...hard tyres...really
